I gave my first one away and bought another, so it got two thumbs up from me. There's no problem fitting it into those tiny cup holders in a car. In the dark, it could have a light, but I use the dome light instead if I'm worried about missing it. That's such a great picture! The lid closes as I close it. When I am in the dark, I can feel for the hinge and flip it open without having to look at it, which is a safety feature in my opinion. Unlike other containers, this one isn't airtight, so it gets plugged up quickly because of its two tiny holes where you put out your cigarette. My opinion is that they should be a bit lower in the can or a bit bigger. I don't mind being picky, but that's just inflexible. It has been years since I used it and I enjoy it. Besides being a beautiful blue, it's also a great design.

I thought it would be bigger. From the description, it was stated to be six inches long. This is a 8 inch tall teddy bear. There are only 3 inches of height to it. For the most part an ashtray works just like you want it to, however, with the lid on this ashtray you can only place it ash only one way, and ash falls into the cup holder easily because the lid makes it difficult to ash. However, it is nice to have the lid because it helps keep smells off and can be moved to another spot in the car without having to worry about it tipping.
In light of the fact that I would like to quit, it is difficult for me to say whether I like or dislike ashtrays. In any event, it's a perfect fit in one of the car cup holders and does what it's supposed to do. Oh no, the Big W had the "lighted" one for me. I believe that is the only place that still has ashtrays in the auto section for our kind. That was such an idiotic piece of crap that I almost burned two holes in my console area. I have this one and it's great when I travel long distances with my boyfriend (who is trying to quit too).
My favorite part about this ash tray is the small size. The only thing I dislike about this is that I need to carry a toothpick around to brush out the butt snuffers after using them for a while. Although, I'm not sure if there's really a way to overcome this issue with design. I guarantee you will see what I mean when you buy one! My opinion remains the same, the price is still worth it. The stub holes can be cleared of ash by poking them with a chopstick if they are filled with ash. It's common for the hinge to get clogged with ash as well, I forget how I cleared that out but it wasn't a particularly difficult process. Perhaps a paperclip would have been better. The situation is unclear. These are all minor maintenance tasks that only need to be addressed from time to time.
