DAR should inquire about the manufacturer's tests and results.
I don't own a Ford, but if you have a standard steering wheel, it will most likely fit.
Hello, this lock prevents the thief from turning the steering wheel. It will not protect a thief who attempts to steal the steering wheel by cutting it.
Is it a question about whether or not batteries are required? br>No, batteries are not required; BUY IT NOW without hesitation; this device is fantastic; however, don't forget your code; it will be difficult to remove it; the best feature for me is that the numbers are large and legible in the dark.

I had to return this because I couldn't even get the lock to open when the default 0s were set. I attempted to reset the password by unscrewing the small piece, but it was unsuccessful. I've never seen such bad instructions as those that came with the lock. Even the step-by-step photos on this product page don't show how to open the lock (I tried pulling both ends) or which hole the numbers should line up with. There were three of them. They needed to make a simple, step-by-step instructional video that was easy to follow. The lock was also far too heavy. br>br> I understand it's supposed to be sturdy, but I'd be concerned about regularly putting that much weight on my steering wheel. Returning for a refund was necessary.
To set the lock, first remove the screw with the included phillips screwdriver; then pop up the little plate (screw hole in the middle) and remove it temporarily; and finally, use the other included round screwdriver to move the piece all the way from the left to the right (next to the SET) notation, allowing you to see the combination. (4) Decide on a five-digit code. (5) with the round screwdriver, move the piece all the way from the right to the far left (opposite of 3) (6) replace the screw (7) replace the plate that you removed (reference 2), making sure it's back on the right way because the screw and the screw hold won't line up if it's back on the wrong way. You've completed the task!.
I've had this steering wheel lock for just over a year now for a truck in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is the vehicle theft capital of the United States. I chose it over the competing Club because reviews indicated that the keys would occasionally fail, requiring locksmiths to remove the Club at a significant cost to the buyer. With a combination lock, you won't have any problems. It always works, and I use it every time I get out of my car. Putting it on or taking it off takes only a few seconds. It has a very solid feel to it, and I believe cutting through and removing it would take some time and effort. The combination was simple to set up, and I saved the instructions in case I needed to change it in the future. I strongly advise you to do so.
reviews of 5 stars Yoda: To reset the combination, you must first know what it is currently set to. A thief could simply remove the set screw and reset the combination if this wasn't the case. This lock is incredibly strong. There are five large combination numbers that are simple to lock and unlock. There are no keys to misplace, forget, or misplace. Yessssss! Before attempting to remove this lock, I believe a thief would attempt to cut the steering wheel! The proportions are ideal. It'll most likely act as a strong deterrent. With the expectation that this would actually prevent my truck from being stolen, I gave it five stars. I'm thinking about getting another one for my car. For the money, it's a great dealโ- I initially refused to pay because I did not want to. But I'm glad I did it now.
I bought this for my 2012 Ford Explorer, and even after properly installing it, the steering wheel could still be turned all the way around, effectively rendering it useless. It should be a little longer. br>br>Aside from that, setting a combo and resetting it was simple. The screw holding the cover plate in place was a little tight, but with some muscle and the tools that came with the lock, I was able to break it loose.
To make the wheel lock work, you must loosen a set screw. The set screw had been tightened to the point where it couldn't be undone. The item was returned and a refund was issued.
Unlike the Club, I enjoy not having to carry around extra keys. No one is going to try to pick a five-digit combination. Don't be alarmed by the screw tab; it's simple to remove and replace. If you ever feel like it. I've had it for a few days in my Jeep and am very pleased with my purchase. ๐๐.
Very sturdy product, just got it because of people crashing into cars late at night and also stealing a whole vehicle from one of the neighbors, easy to change combinations and stays in place very well, no looseness feel in it. Item arrived damaged outside in the box due to how the Amazon delivery guy just tossed it on the floor and walked away; I was on the other side of the window at the time; however, I would recommend, 5/5. ๐๐ป.
