Questions & Answers

Is the 3100vx compatible?

I was able to program it. It's fantastic.

What are the steps to set up the system?

Please keep in mind that To program this remote, you will need a Valet / Programming switch. If you are unfamiliar with programming, it can be difficult. Before making a purchase, please review the programming instructions (below). It's possible that you'll need the assistance of a mechanic or a locksmith. br>Instructions for Programming: br>Up to four transmitters (remotes) can be stored in memory by the vehicle's system. To add transmitters to the vehicle's security system or change button assignments, use the following programming routine. br>To enter Learn Routine, plug the Valet/Program push button into the main brain's Blue 2 Pin Port (look for a small black push button somewhere under the drivers dash or kick panel). br>To program, connect the Valet/Program switch to the blue port. When programming this unit, you must follow a basic sequence of steps. 1) Check that the dome light is turned on by opening a door. 2) Start the car by turning the ignition key to the RUN position. br>3) Press and release the Valet/Program switch as many times as the desired channel (listed below) within 10 seconds. Once you've chosen a channel, press and hold the switch once more. To confirm the selected channel, the LED will flash, followed by the horn chirping (if connected). The Valet/Program switch should not be turned off. br>CHANNEL FUNCTIONbr>1 Arm, Disarm, Panicbr>2 Silent Mode, Remote Valet, Trunk Releasebr>3 Remote Start or other accessoriesbr>4 Arm only (4 button remote)br>5 Disarm only (4 button remote)br>6 Panic only (4 button remote)br>7 Auto Program single Arm - Disarm - CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: CHANNEL 9: If any transmitter button on a known transmitter is programmed to channel 9, all transmitters in memory will be erased. In the event that one of the customer's transmitters is lost or stolen, this feature comes in handy. This will clear the memory of your system of any lost or stolen transmitters. It can also be used to start over if the transmitter buttons have been incorrectly programmed. br>4) To advance from one programming channel to the next, release the Valet/Programming switch and tap it to advance channels, then HOLD it. As an example; You've set up Channel 1 and now want to set up Channel 2. The Valet/Program switch should be turned off. To switch from Channel 1 to Channel 2, press it once and then release it. Now press and hold the Valet/Program switch for a few seconds. If the horn is connected, it will chirp twice and the LED will flash twice. Do not let go of the reins, as you have done previously. br>To program Channel 3 after Channel 1, release the Valet/Program switch, press it twice, and then release it to advance to Channel 3. Then press it a third time and hold it in place. If the horn is connected, it will chirp three times and the LED will flash three times to indicate that it is ready to receive the code from the transmitter. br>5) The Valet/Program push button can be released once the code(s) have been learned. br>6) If one of the following events occurs, programming mode will be exited:br>a. The ignition key has been set to OFFbr>b. The Valet/Program switch has been pressed an excessive number of times.
c. The time between programming steps is more than 15 seconds. When programming mode is turned off, the horn will emit a single long chirp.

What kind of battery is required for this remote?

To pry open the clamshell from the side, you'll need a very thin blade, and you'll want to make sure the button side is facing down, or the buttons will fall out. I'll need to replace the battery and double-check that the little rubber gasket around the entire image is in place before snapping it all back together.

It's ideal, inexpensive, and simple
4/5

Perfect car alarm remote replacement for my Viper Car Alarm Model 350HV, and simple to program using the included paper instructions. The remote comes with batteries that have already been installed. The other buttons, however, are not programmed to open trunk or sound the alarm in alert mode; they only arm and disarm the alarm. It's up to me to find out.

Works
4/5

I bought it to give it a shot after the two for my son's Camry, the first one and then the other, both stopped working for no apparent reason. Order a new one after replacing the batteries and deoxit the pads and contacts they work against. br>Item arrived on the scheduled delivery date (today). It comes in a box (I'm not a fan of blister packs that require a chainsaw to open). br>Didn't give it a star because the instructions on the back of the box were too small for my eyes to read and a portion of it appeared to be smeared. He had to look up how to program it on the internet, but it worked - So I'm not sure what the problem is with the first two remotes. Whatever the case may be, it's nice to have a functional remote once more.

A fantastic purchase! The remote was valued at $70 by Viper
5/5

I found it on Amazon and decided to take a chance on it because of the positive reviews. It's a good thing I got two. They were even three days ahead of schedule. Using the included instructions, I was able to program both remotes in under five minutes. The range is superior to that of OEM remotes, and it can transmit through walls. The other day, I was in the hardware store when I realized I hadn't locked my truck. When I pressed the Lock/Unlock button, the alarm chirped, indicating that it had been locked. This is a product that I strongly suggest.

DIR 473v Remote Control - It's a lot better than what I had before
5/5

I got my DIR 473V 3-pack. over a week ago, I pressed the button on the remote. The cost was 30, the DIR manufacturer demanded $69 for the same. It cost twice as much at the installer store. It was a brand new, genuine product that came in its original bubble pack and included an extra silicone replaceable button pad as well as a battery. Even with a new battery, this remote outperforms the one I lost in terms of range and signal strength. This is the best I can do for my Directed Electonics 350HV alarm, which is 5 years old. Because the accompanying instructions were unclear, I went to a Best Buy mobile electronics guy, who programmed it for me for free in under a minute. If you've never used a remote setup before, do yourself a favor and have it programmed by a professional. Even if he does charge you, it will be a small fee because it only takes a few minutes (.

I'd misplaced my only remote and had to buy a new one
5/5

When the vehicle was first installed, I misplaced my old remote, which had come straight from the dealer. So I went straight to the source in search of a replacement, only to be met with what appeared to be absurdly high prices! I came across this seller after nearly giving up hope of finding a replacement remote for my beloved Viper Alarm System. I ordered on Nov 30th and received on Dec 2nd, which was much faster than I expected! Linking and pairing with my existing system was a breeze. On the back of the package, there were instructions written in plain English. Even though I'm not the most technologically savvy, it took me less than 10 minutes to pair with the given directions. I'm very pleased with the device, and thanks to you, I can relive the thrill of pressing the button and hearing the enlightening "BEEP BEEP. ".

The Directed Electronics 473V Viper replacement remote was delivered on time as promised. The included instructions made it simple to program the remote. It's been two weeks since I've used it, and it's performed admirably. I would highly recommend the seller, and I plan to do business with them again in the future.

It's fantastic! We were in desperate need of a new starter
5/5

I placed an order for it. The system has been in my possession for nearly 15 years. Replacement was difficult to come by, so I ordered this instead. It cost $65 to reconnect with the original installers, but it now works like new.
