The idea might work, but I'm not sure. On the cross-over box I used them, I cut the covers and pasted them inside.
Approximately three eighths of an inch.
In order to center your tool box in the truck bed, drill a 3/8 inch hole half way between the outer edge of the tool box and the inner edge of the truck body. A 3/4 inch gap between the tool box and the edge of the toolbox is recommended. You should open the lid and check that it fits. You may need to adjust. The clamps should be installed from underneath the truck body with the wide edge under the lip and the thin edge against the Underneath, you need a wrench and ratchet, and on top you need a socket.
bought them for my husband's birthday, so I don't remember if it is a good purchase

-I bought a brand new Camlocker box that came with small plastic joints The box did not arrive with the hooks, so I ordered them I installed these and the box is extremely secure, even when only one is on each side. My box is a slimline model that is only 14" wide so I suspect that these are better than J-clips. A set of hooks to bend the inner rail of the bed. The rails do not even touch the lip of the bed as you can see in the picture. A 2016 Ram 2500 has been fitted with them.
It is true that this statement is old-fashioned, but it has its place. There is no need to drill a hole into the bed rails, they are very tightly secured, and they are not overly tricky Providing a common sense approach and application to how things work, you will have the same result if you are a do-it-yourselfer. The clamp style I have chosen is my first time using one, and I am very satisfied. My first step was to read all the pages of reviews about the product before making my purchase so that I could see where others had problems, as well as those who adapted their mechanical knowledge to overcome shortcomings. This reviewer was completely right when she stated that you should tape the washer and nut to the clamp so it will help you hold it to start the bolt. In his review, he even showed a picture of how he did In my opinion, this completely eliminated the need for a third hand, and eliminated what could have been a frustrating situation. I was able to use it without a problem. In regards to the strength of the bolts, I learned something from a mentor a number of years ago when I was working for an older gentleman, who told me "superman is stupidman" when we overtighten This clamp comes with nylon lock nuts, which do not require Superman to torque them down. "Two grunts and a snap of the wrist" probably won't do it since it will more than likely snap the head off the bolt. I like the snug! In about thirty minutes, I had all four clamps installed on my truck box and it was functional. The clamps offer a clean installation and I highly recommend them. Sorry, I did not send any pictures in part because I am getting old and technology is not my strong suit.
I think these are the cream of the crop. Despite tightening my J hooks enough to warp the aluminum box, my truck tool box had already come in loose the next day. Installed my truck tool box on Wednesday, these arrived on Saturday. Installing a toolbox on a truck is a pain because J hooks are so lame. The slot in the toolbox becomes warped if you tighten the screws too much. The points on the lips of the bed rail only make contact with a very small area. In addition, they stick out of the side channel of the tool box, reducing the space that can be used to hold a tool. These clamp under the actual bed rail so you can tighten them properly without damaging the aluminum toolbox. They also place pressure on the underside of the toolbox so you can tighten them properly without bending it. Nylock nuts seal them tight, so they should not loosen over time. In the toolbox, there are only two bolt heads of 1/2" diameter. I can only think of one downside a thief with a few tools may "probably" be able to get them out while the box is closed and locked, but perhaps not, as the box and the truck fit fairly tightly together. The J hooks can only be tightened from the inside of the box, so they could not be loosened from the outside. While I don't think this is an issue and have never parked my truck in a place where I would need to worry about this, I think it's definitely something to consider.
A pair of these were used to install a toolbox on a 2015 F-150 FX4 150 Lariat The toolbox is perfectly fitted, and they hold it in place with ease. As a result of its design, the clamps are placed on the underside of the bed rail so that they exert pressure on a solid, flat surface. The thin edge of the bed rail is usually squeezed by most other clamps available on the market I'm not happy with that! Instead, you can choose these! This book is highly recommended for everyone who has a All newer models of the 150.
The best way to attach a truck tool box to the truck bed is with this type of clamp. It does not scratch or bend the railings of the truck Having a 1990 Silverado truck bed that does not have front attach points, I did not have the option of using those attachment points on the front of the tool box. But my tool box is very securely held in place using two of these clamps. My experience with these clamps has been excellent, and I would recommend them highly if you want a quick, reliable way to attach a tool box to your truck without drilling or damaging.
Unbolting the toolbox can only be done by braking into it.
As soon as they are installed, they seem to work well. Since I wanted to use the aluminum beds on some of my new trucks, I didn't want to use just the j-pegs Describe hook style here. I will say, if I had a complaint, it would be that getting to the nut beneath the assembly is nearly impossible. As a result, you're pushed into a contorted position, trying to hold the wrench and the hook at the same time. If the bolt were directly screwed into the clamp, it would be a five-star product.
If you happen to have an extra arm, you would definitely benefit from these. The toolbox is set up under the bed rail, which is hard to see because it's hidden under the rail. After you drive the bolt through the mounting hole, you should install the "j" bracket, washer, and the lock nut with your other hand. This is the moment the third arm comes in handy, since you will need them all in your hands at once. If they just thread the hole in the bracket, this would be the perfect product. A pair of hands is made up of two pieces. The Eureka moment.
