In November 2017, I purchased this cover for a 700-mile road trip over Thanksgiving. It was a good fit for my 2000 Chevy Silverado. It was extremely simple to set up. The fact that it was built on a metal frame appealed to me. that when it was closed, it latched firmly The vinyl was tightly cinched. Even in constant 90 to 100 degree temperatures, the cover remained tight when latched down. One person can remove the cover from the truck bed in its entirety, but two people worked best. br>br>Three things I'd like to see done differently / areas where I think we could improve: 1) The handles that secure the cover to the truck bed and are the most frequently used when opening it. The plastic used to close the cover is recyclable. Because plastic degrades over time, I would have preferred metal. br>2) The seal on the cover that seats it to the bed rail is starting to pull away from the cover. It occurs where the cover hinges and the seal becomes clogged. It needs to be repositioned in order to lay flat. There's a crack in the adhesive there. br>3) The cover isn't wide enough to cover the four cutouts in the bed rails on the outside of the bed stakes. I'm considering purchasing or making my own caps for those. I couldn't keep all of the rain water out because I didn't have time to address the issue before leaving on my trip. Nothing under the cover was completely soaked, but the seal does not extend that far.
When my truck was towed, it had a tilt tonneau that was destroyed. Because I work as a home inspector and have a lot of stuff in the bed of my truck, weather protection and functionality are important to me. I was initially skeptical of this cover, but after receiving it and installing it, I have a more positive opinion of it. The construction appears to be solid and well-made, with high-quality materials. It took only about 15 minutes to install on my 2006 GMC Sierra. A storage bag is included with the cover to protect it when you remove it, as well as an LED bed light, which feels a little cheap and gimmicky but whatever. The ultimate judge of how well this cover holds up will be time, but given the apparent build quality, I don't expect it to fail.
My 1999 Silverado is always parked outside and isn't protected in any way (except for this bed cover). The cover has now survived a typical winter in Indiana. The cover appears to have held up well in the face of ice, snow, and below-freezing temperatures, and the bed remains dry even when it rains. It's still in good shape, with no signs of sagging or wear. br>br>It appears to be simple to set up and take down. I can take it out in less than a minute and replace it in less than 5 minutes (while being extremely particular about how it lines up). ) I never thought I'd drive with it folded, but it's come in handy on a few occasions. I like the buckles because they help me stay secure. br>br>I've had the bed cover for about 6 months and I'm really happy with it. One of the more useful modifications I've made to the truck.
This product was discovered online by a friend, and I assisted in its installation. It was a breeze to put together. I was so taken with it that I bought one. You can't go wrong with the price. br>I've seen a lot of these tri folds that don't require a frame but have been hesitant to purchase one. However, you cannot go wrong with this one at this price. br>It doesn't have a lock, but that doesn't bother me because I use it to keep things dry in bed. Apart from that, a thief is a thief, and locks are only used to keep honest people honest. br>Mine arrived on Friday and took about 5 minutes to install. (This is the second time I've done it. )br>My wife and I were planning a weekend trip to Knoxville, Tennessee. I had not intended to drive my truck, but her Tahoe had bad ball joints. As a result, I had to use my pickup truck. We folded the cover and locked it open on the way there, allowing us to fit our bikes inside with the front tires hanging over the tailgate. I stowed some luggage under the front where it was folded and cruised at 80 miles per hour with no problems. br>On the way home, I decided to remove the front wheels and lay them down. This allowed us to completely close the cover and keep the bed covered while we went shopping. (She's looking for a new knife. ) Pocket knife. br>It worked perfectly. br>I can tell you that at a sustained speed of 75 to 90 mph with the cover down, it handled just fine. br>Last night it rained heavily, but nothing in the bed was wet. br>Oh yeah, we locked the bikes in the truck bed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, It's a vinyl cover, but it's a dreadful one. . . . br>I am a certified mechanic and the owner of a truck and auto repair shop. . . . br>THIS IS A FANTASTIC PRODUCT. > > > > > > BUY IT.
This seemed like a better option for my work truck's bed cover. I've been using one of the three fold ones for a few years, but it was a pain getting to my tools at the front of the bed, so I THOUGHT the roll up would be more convenient. Here are the top reasons not to waste your money:br>1 the instructions for installation were not clearbr>2 it is not watertight as advertised, there are gaps, which makes me hesitant to drive on the freeway with it with air flow. br>3 Clearly designed for someone who does not intend to open and close the cover without assistance on a regular basis. It won't latch if the Velcro isn't perfectly lined out, which is a difficult task. To latch it, I had to hang on to it with my full body weight (155 pounds). br>br>Don't waste your money, guys; I'm going to look into the return policy for this piece of crap. 💩.
It's well worth the money, and it's also extremely long-lasting. This is the best of the best! This fits perfectly and looks really nice on my 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE! br>I can tell you that I've used this campin when it's snowing, when it's hot, and in all kinds of weather, and it's held up and performed admirably. I also suggest getting the cleaner for it. It's something I use once a week to keep her looking nice and shiny. With piles of snow on top, I was able to keep all of my snowboarding equipment and food dry! The money was well spent. THERE WAS A BIT OF A GAP IN THE FEONT BY THE CAB, BUT ALL THAT WAS NEEDED WAS SOME EXTRA WEATHERSTRIPPING AND WE WERE GOOD TO GO. They also give you an extra strip, so it's all good.
