You should be able to adjust the bed with or without a bedrail, according to what the manufacturer states
It has to do with Jeep's design take about half of the supplied material (one piece on each side), double it, and place it under the roll strip. By raising it about 1/4 inch, it will enable the latches to operate. Using black plastic shims and double faced tape, I was able to fix this problem

It arrived today. I received my cover for the Gladiator with bed The rails could not be attached. There is too much space between the rail and the piece that should slide into it. Exactly the same pieces were included in mine. A message has been sent to the I am looking forward to hearing back from you. The following update has been made I modified it to fit after it didn't fit before. In order for the brackets to reach the rail system, I had to have a machine shop extend the holes more. [/photo]
In order to mount the brackets, you must Next, add the tie-downs back on and replace the caps. Add the brackets to the rail and the brackets to the tie-downs. It would have been more convenient if they had made them smaller so that everything didn't need to be removed at In order to get the locking mechanism to work, I had to purchase some gasket material to shim the ends of the rails. In order to prevent rain from leaking through, I cut a piece of the weather strip to fill in the gap. With the top rail squeezed down, the bolts will be easy to insert and the rail will likely stay in place longer with a woodworking clamp. Before I close the tailgate, I must close and latch the cover or else the latch will not work.
In sum, the tonneau cover itself is great, but I was not pleased with the modifications I had to make in order for it to work, or with the lack of directions or customer service. For these reasons, I would give it 3 stars. As long as you enter this knowing you were going to modify it, I would rate it as a four-star experience. In the hope of helping others looking into the role up cover, I have provided this information.
I would like to start by saying that I dislike this. The attachment points at the rear of the tailgate to keep the cover closed are somewhat difficult to latch they hold fine when you do, but getting them just right takes practice. The handles vibrate and easily twist when unhooked, making alignment a bit off when you Having the attachment points made of metal instead of plastic would be appreciated as well. Okay, there is a negative there. In contrast to other similar covers I have owned for other vehicles, this one has (4) forward attachment points, not the typical two, and they are ALL metal, not plastic, which is fantastic! The materials of the cover are also thicker than most, and the cover fits the vehicle well too. Finally, what would you say is the bottom line from both a price and quality perspective? You could not ask for a better deal!.
My new 2020 Jeep Overland Gladiator would have a terrible time fitting these. While the tailgate is closed, the vehicle will not lock. The inside of the rail near the locking mechanism can be shimmmed, according to another reviewer. It might be worth a try, but I'm probably going to return it and purchase a Mopar instead. As soon as the shims work, I'll update the review. This week's update He tried the shims, but they did not work. You can only lock the cover when you open the tailgate. It is only possible to close the tailgate once the cover has been closed. I find this to be a horrible As long as your tailgate is either up or down, you should be able to close the cover.
The Gladiator's bed cover is made of very good material, and it rolls up very well. It does need to be adjusted and fine tuned to your vehicle. In order for it to lock easily, you need to shim the inside of the channel at the end where the lock is located. As a result of the seal beneath the channel and the plastic cap on top of the bed, the channel teeters downward and the latches have a difficult time engaging. It has become easier to close the cover once the channel has been shimmied on the inside and the lock tensioning mechanism has been repositioned. The rubber seals at the front and back of the housing are durable and form an extremely.
In a nutshell There was a problem with the bed light that came with it it broke. Install was OK, but not great. I like the value and the materials seem to be good except for the bed light, it broke. In order to have a more secure latching mechanism, the cover must be 1" longer and the latch tolerances should be loosened. When I closed the tail gate, it was very difficult for the latch to latch. The tail gate is working now, but I am almost positive that water will leak in from the back. It was necessary for me to modify some of the weather-stripping and the foam pads to make it latch. In any case, it will achieve what it was meant to. You can use this option until you save up enough money for the expensive one. It will work for you until you save up for that $$ version. I would not recommend this option if you are looking for a perfect solution.
The instructions were also very simple and I like how thick and well made the cover is. All I can complain about is I had to shim the tailgate edges along the back of the vehicle. There is too much distance between it and the latches for them The furring strips under the rails near the tailgate are about 5 inches long and are 1 x 1/16 inch wide. It allowed the latches to lock, and the rubber strip along the back of the tailgate managed to keep A quick fix is in order. This is a great cover for the price!.
This covers roll up well and is well worth the price you pay. This is not quite big enough. It is only about two feet wide There is a 4” limit to the width of our products. The ends have to be pushed out at an angle that's not 90 degrees, so you have to do so at an angle other than There's nothing to worry about, you can still position the cover so that it covers I purchased this product because it is priced right, and although it's not perfect, it has held up well and prevented rain and condensation from building up in my Jeep Gladiator's bed. Normally, rubber weather stripping is used to identify the areas in which the cover does not completely close around the edges (so if you see sunlight, I would slide a piece into that spot so no rain gets inside). As well as the crack between the tailgate and the bed, I put rubber stripping in these cracks. Be sure to look for any cracks that can be accessed by moisture once you have hit Also, you need to almost fill the space between the ends of the cover and the rails when you push them in. So that it will stay snug, you actually need to make them kind of tight. My son bought a Gator cover for his RAM 2020 Warlock, but it took me half the time to set it up because it was not connected to the top like the Lyon cover. Unless Lyons makes their design so that you do not have to connect and can fixate each side of the frame and then the rails, I would order a Gator next time I need a roll cover. This will allow you to build your own personal fit how you want it.
