It looks great and didn't leak after going through the car wash with my truck. One of the back latch bolts was bent, which was the only issue. I highly recommend this product and will contact the manufacturer for a replacement bolt. br>br>*****Update 12/10/20****
In my initial review, I stated that I liked the cover and would contact the manufacturer for a replacement bolt because the one I received was bent. I contacted Gator Covers, who referred me to undercoverinfo, a different company. com was also ineffective for me. I'm just going to return the cover and buy something else because sending a replacement bolt for a damaged item shouldn't be difficult. br>br>*****Update 12/18/20****
br>I contacted Under Covers as directed by Gator Covers and was told they did not make this cover. Returning to Gator Covers for more running around. br>br>I'm happy now that the cover has been replaced, and it's still a great cover.
There were four securing clamps on this one alone. I placed my order on Friday morning, and it arrived the following morning. It only took 5 minutes to set up. My 2005 Silverado and I were a perfect match.
Pros: br>It's a fantastic design. Strong winds are not an issue. Folding is a breeze. Lightweight and waterproof, it keeps the rain out and the cargo dry. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>When driving, the section closest to the cab bulges as a result of the air, whereas the other two sections have the opposite effect, appearing to be pressed down by the traveling air. br>After securing it, one of the two bars with the securing latches bent slightly. It happened right at the point where the latch is attached to the plastic part and the bar that extends to the other side of the bed.
I bought this to replace another cover that had only lasted three years and kept coming unlatched while driving down the highway. This one has left a lasting impression on me. It takes about 5 minutes to set up, no exaggeration. The best part is that it comes off and on with ease, so if you need full access to the bed, as I do occasionally, this is ideal. All of the fittings and clamps are simple to use and appear to be well-secured. br>br>Because it's a soft tonneau, it "flaps" a little at highway speeds, but that's to be expected. You might think it won't flap because it fits so snugly and seals so well, but it does. The cover may be properly sealed, but your bed may not be. br>br>I would have given five stars if I hadn't had a question for Gator, which I had submitted online and never received a response to. As a result, the one-star reduction is for the customer service rather than the cover. I will give Gator credit for having a very informative website with a wealth of useful information and advice.
I purchased this cover for my 2015 Chevy 3500 and it is so simple to install and remove that I wish I had done so much sooner. The material is thicker than other soft covers I've owned, and unlike the others, rain hasn't pooled on it. The money spent is well spent. I wash my truck almost every day in an automatic car wash, and the cover never leaks or flaps around.
I own a 2009 Chevy Silverado z71 crew cab. 8 bed. I got the one that goes all the way up to the classic one from 2006. 8 bed. The manufacturer said it wouldn't fit, but it does, and it has a good seal. Installing it is simple and takes only ten minutes. So far, it appears to be of good quality; the clamps, however, appear to be of inferior quality, which I intend to replace. I simply tightened the clamps slightly past firm because I know that if you tighten them too tightly, the frame will break or bend. Overall, this is a great product for the price, and the vinyl comes with a 10-year warranty if you register it. I've only had it for a few hours, so I can't comment on its long-term effectiveness.
The tonneau cover was simple to install, but the caps that were provided to cover the post holes in the bed rail didn't fit very well. Furthermore, the clamps that hold the cover in place once it is fully extended are a pain in the buttocks. They were spring-loaded and pulled down, then clamped to the underside of the rail on my previous cover. Last but not least, the cover is not tightly stretched across the frame. When it rains, the material (vinyl) sags a little between the staves, catching water. It does the job, but I'm not going to buy another.
This is sufficient for the money. I'm not sure if it'll be able to withstand the harsh Colorado weather, snow, and sun over time. It has a ten-year shelf life. I'm also not sure how I feel about the plastic latches that keep it folded. I'm guessing they'll become brittle and break before too long. When driving down the road, it billows slightly in the wind. I'll probably replace it with a solid Tonneau Cover when I have more money saved up in a few years. For the money, this is sufficient.
