Questions & Answers

What are people doing to keep the ladder from sliding around on the floor? I bought it, but why did my ladder slide so badly?

We tucked a towel beneath the ladder after folding it. It prevents it from sliding and possibly causing damage to the annex floor.

Is there a way to adjust the height? My tent's bottom is lower than the annex's 83" height requirement. Is there any way to roll it at the bottom?

There isn't any way to change it. The adjustable bars that hold the tent can be adjusted if it's attached to the scout trailer. The annex, on the other hand, isn't.

So, why did the price double in the space of a few hours?

Just keep an eye on it because the price will come back down due to supply and demand.

Although it says 2888, which is for a large tent, the description says 2783. ?

Yes, it fits the XL Smittybilt tent and is functional.

I think it's a good annex, but if I had the chance, I'd change a few things
4/5

This annex was purchased to accompany my RTT so that I could stand up, change, and store some of my belongings while camping. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to use the annex for the first time, and I was quite impressed. br>br>The annex comes in a very thin bag, and I have no idea how they managed to fit it all inside; I couldn't even get it all the way inside when I went to pack it up. The bag has been stretched to its maximum capacity, and it will only take a few more repacks before it completely rips. For it and the accessories, I'm already on the lookout for a much more durable bag. br>br>In comparison to the tent, the annex is made of a much thinner material. As a result, it easily blows in the wind. To keep the corners in place, stake them down or throw heavy objects into them. br>The annex's bottom is made of a thick rubbery material with a zipper around the edge that allows it to be removed or cleaned. The zippers along the top, as well as those on each of the windows and the door, are thick and easy to move without snagging. I set up a small table inside the annex, along with all of my clothes and some of my gear that I needed access to quickly during my first weekend there. Because the temperature was expected to drop to 40 degrees with high winds, I installed a small ceramic heater inside. Because of its light weight, the annex wanted to pull with the wind, but it managed to keep some heat in even with the windows and doors at the bottom open. The tent is mounted on a bedrack above my bed topper, and the tent's bottom is just under 6' tall. The annex had plenty of slack at the bottom that could easily be taken up by a vehicle with a lift. br>br>The only thing I wish was better about the annex is that the material thickness matched the tent thickness. It appears to be quite thin, and I was expecting it to be roughly the same thickness as the tent. br>On the covers of the windows, zippers are only on the sides; there are no zippers on the bottom of the cover to keep it tight to the annex. When the wind blows, the window cover is lifted and the air is blown right in. On cold mornings, it's a little difficult to keep the heat in. Even a velcro strip at the bottom would be nice to prevent them from opening up in a slight breeze. br>The second thing I dislike about the windows is that the covers are on the outside, which means that if you want to close them for privacy, you must do so before entering the annex. I wish there was something on the inside to adjust them while still inside.

Good buy! Heavy-duty floor, simple installation, numerous pockets for storing items, and a large amount of usable space for your roof top tent When the tent is attached, it is impossible to fold it
5/5

To attach it to the tent, you must first remove the Velcro side strip.

For any RTT, this is an absolute must-have
5/5

For any RTT, this is an absolute must-have. It's a great place to keep your gear, but it's also a convenient extra space to change in. If you have a RTT, you know how difficult it is to change in the tent when there isn't a lot of headroom. It takes some time to figure out how to put it on at first, but once you do, it's a piece of cake.

Acceptable in every way
4/5

It's not as heavy as the matching tent, but it's still of good quality; I wish it had more than one entrance, but that's just a personal preference. Although access to the car doors could be improved, they work on my JKU when the tent is mounted over the passenger doors rather than the roof's back.

Annex
4/5

It appears to be a good fit. The material is light in weight. It would be nice if it were made of the same material as our Smittybilt XL RTT.

It was a bit pricey, but it was well worth it for us
4/5

The extra side for storage or hanging out in when the weather is bad is a nice addition to the XL tent. However, two of the rods that hold the tent's windows open were not planned for, so this could be improved.

Spacious
5/5

Our overland tent has benefited greatly from the addition of this item. I created an entirely new space. We had plenty of room to store our belongings, dogs, and portable toilet.
