Overlanding in Tacoma is extra cozy
5/5

This is incredible. I'd been wanting one for a while and had finally planned a trip after quarantine, so I went ahead and bought one. Before going on the trip, make sure everything fits in the garage. IN THE SAME MANNER AS A GLOVE Even the tiniest option is a good size. Firmly fastens the straps, confident that the rain and wind storms in Florida will not be a problem. br>If you have a short bed Tacoma, know that it can still fit a Coleman trailhead cot, Rtic 45, gear bag, and a furry companion inside! br>budgetoverland is a phrase used to describe a situation in which a budget is exceeded.

I wish it were as well-made as it appears
3/5

I recently returned from a three-day trip in which I used this tent for the first time, and I've included my thoughts and photos below. THE BENEFITS: br>br>THE BENEFITS: br>br>THE BENEFITS This tent, in my opinion, looked great on my Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Short Bed (2013 Toyota Tacoma). In terms of appearance, it received a lot of positive feedback from my fellow campers. It rained cats and dogs on day one due to the end of the recent hurricane weather, but with the rain shield up, that was a non-issue. issue. I was aware that rain was on the way, so I can't comment on how well it handles rain without the shield up. In the occasionally gusty winds, it also felt quite solid. This is a feature I was not aware of - But I loved the IDEA (more on that in a minute) of the blackout sealing material on the inside: no lantern light attracting bugs at night, and you can sleep in a little in the morning if you want to. OTHER BENEFITS: Roomy. I preferred this tent to the tents that are just bed toppers because it has a floor sewn in. Each window has a privacy cover. It has a center hook that was ideal for hanging my Coleman Tent Fan/LED Light combination. THE BAD: br>br> It's simply not well-made. The zippers are of low quality and have a delicate feel to them. I was under the impression that I needed to be extremely cautious lest I ruin the tent. I completely believe the other reviewers who stated that the zipper was a problem, because I was concerned about it every time I opened it. The tent poles aren't very flexible, and putting it up puts a lot of strain on the seams. After only a few days of use, you can see the seam threads pulling apart at a few points. The blackout sealing also means that it doesn't breathe at all when the vents are closed (as I did in heavy rains), but I suppose that's a trade-off. You must decide whether you truly require it. The rain shield also prevents any ventilation from taking place. Finally, unlike their other tents, there is no access hatch to the back cab window. br>br>THE NEGATIVE: The blackout layer on the inside of the tent is impossible to unpack without damaging it; it is packed so tightly in its box that pulling it apart tears it. I immediately recognized this and proceeded to unpack the contents with extreme caution, but to no avail. br>br>I'm hoping to fall in love with this tent as much as I'm falling in love with the concept of truck bed camping right now. Although I like the tent's ideas and features, it does not appear to be well constructed. I'd pay double the price for a better-made version of this tent. It arrived damaged (the blackout material separating during unpacking), and I'm afraid it won't last more than a season or two (if I keep it), which is a shame because it's a great idea, great look, and solid design - Simply put, the execution was poor. I plan to contact the company and, depending on their response, will update this review. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The blackout material pulled away even more on the second setup, leaving small black flecks all over the place. Also, the tailgate pole pocket is already tearing away (it's only a single seam and it's extremely tight). New photos have been added.

It was disappointing
3/5

This tent has received mixed reviews from me. I'd give the tent a 3 out of 5 stars. Customer service, on the other hand, receives a perfect score of one. We purchased the tent about a month ago. I tried it out by taking it camping for a night. When I first put it up, one of the seams where the pole goes tore. The rest of the tent was fine, and we had a good night's sleep there. It will also fit nicely in the back of a Tacoma. br>br>An emphatic 1 for customer service. I sent the seller a message a few weeks ago, asking if we could exchange it because it was damaged. I haven't heard from them yet, and we've reached the point where we won't be able to return it due to the terms of the online agreement. I understand that COVID can have delays, but an email response should not have an impact on their customer service. br>br>I would recommend this tent, but from a different seller.

For such a high-priced tent, the zippers are broken
3/5

The product was defective, with poles missing and a broken zipper on the mess door after only two uses. I was really looking forward to this tent, but the quality of the zippers was disappointing for the price. Fortunately, I had extra poles from a small tent I own, and the inside door zipper was still intact, so I was able to use it for my one-night camping trip. I'm only writing this review to tell Napier that on such an expensive tent, they should make better zippers. Better zippers are found in cheaper tents, and zippers are the most important feature of a tent. Please note that I exchanged this for a new one in the hopes that my tent's zipper issue was a one-time occurrence and that the new one would have a better one. br>I'll update this once I've confirmed that my new truck bed tent's zippers and poles are functioning properly.

There are holes all over the place
3/5

I was really looking forward to going to Yellowstone this weekend, but I'll have to wait until a possible replacement arrives. I'm not sure if it's old or what, but the material has stuck together, and all of the holes are visible after it has been set up. In the poles, the elasticity was also poor. It's a good thing I double-checked it before going to camp.

I found exactly what I was looking for
5/5

I bought this for my girlfriend's birthday, and we recently spent a few nights on the beach in it. To add some cushion, I placed a twin mattress on the bottom. It worked out perfectly because I am 6ft 2in and she is 5ft 6ish, and we were both able to sleep comfortably in it. When traffic drove down the beach, we didn't have to worry about our headlights waking us up because the inside was dark. One day, it was extremely windy, but it did not move an inch. We also switched camping spots and drove it a few miles down the beach at about 20 mph, but it refused to move. So I would say we are 100% happy after our first trip and hopefully we will get many more trips out of it but only time will tell but time will tell but only time will The construction appears to be light, but it is reinforced in areas where it will come into contact with the bed, so hopefully it will last.

It's not as well-built as it appears to be: It's a stylish tent with a lot of useful features
3/5

However, the bug netting door zipper fell off the first night of use and would separate after zipping up. The tent was also not tightly cinched, and there were numerous holes in the stitching on the roof through which light could pass. Oh well, it was a clever idea marred by poor quality assurance. Returning to our cabin tent, which is 15 years old.

When it arrived, it was broken
3/5

After waiting nearly two weeks for a gift for my boyfriend, I'm disappointed because I won't be able to replace it before our trip. He went to set it up when it arrived and discovered that the poles' string had broken. We're glad we checked it out first; otherwise, we'd be camping in the woods without a tent. It's especially aggravating if the tent isn't cheap. It took some time to get it back up and running after purchasing the necessary parts and materials. Hopefully, it will keep out the rain and bugs, as well as any other issues that may arise during our trip. br>Update. . . it also broke on our trip. . . I loved that it was a blackout tent. It's not for us, though, because of the humidity and broken straps.
