Questions & Answers
Could this be used with a 12 inch wide board?
While I'm sure that the ramp ends that I used would be better if they were 12", these certainly worked well.
The manufacturer says the ramp brackets will not fit if the tailgate height is more than 32" tall. Is this a recommendation? It is the case for some manufacturers. ?
Despite this maker not being familiar with it. Since pickup truck tailgates tend to break when loaded by ramps, it's generally better to remove your tailgate when loading. In these cases, excessive weight on the hinge area or even the tailgate itself can warp it or prevent it from closing properly.
Is there a protective pad included in these?
This package does not contain any protective pads
There is a shortbed on my pickup. Do you think they will be able to travel with them over the long distance? Can you tell me how much weight 1 typical ramp is?
A short-bed is about 6 feet 6 inches wide and 6 feet 6 inches long. A minimum of eight feet is required for board length. Approximately 35 to 40 lbs are the weight of 2x8 x 8.

I find that to be no good THE BOARD WILL NOT FITS INTO THESE RAMP ENDS -- A FEW CENTIMES TOO SMALL
These ramp ends do not fit neatly on the ends of a 2 x 12 board, which we thought was the case. The board cannot fit in them because they are too narrow. In terms of nominal thickness, a 2 x 12 board is 1 and a 1/2 inches thick. Although these ends of the ramp are only 1 and 3/8 inches wide, they are only open slightly. As a result, I cannot use them unless I cut 1/8 of an inch off the board, which shouldn't be necessary. My ramp ends were on my boards when I went to pick up my new lawn mower the night before. Fit was not an issue. The ramps I made with them were not practical. It should be no problem for them to fit in. The problem is that they don't. There are too many pieces in these boxes for them to be seconds. It seems that my boards were not warped. made sure they were straight before I stepped on them. There isn't enough width here in the ramp ends for the standard inch and a half board that they're supposed to accept. The money was a waste.

I'm having a bit of a problem fitting my 2x8s on the ramp ends, but that's not an issue with the product
There were two sets I bought Wheeled items are provided with one pair of ramps, and (sliding) boxes with one pair of ramps. I am very impressed with the quality and durability of the ramp ends. There was a small difference between the 2x8 boards and the ramp ends, but that is not the fault of the product. My 2x8s were also too thick to fit the lip of the ramp ends, so I notched the ends of the boards (and angle cut the tops of the boards) so they would fit flush. In order to protect the wheels of the "wheeled" ramp pair, I used 1x3 boards as wheel guards. It would be a shame to have heavy things fall off the ramp. Overall, it is a good product that saves you money if you need a car ramp.

Two 12" wheels do not fit into the It is the 2x12 top kit that I purchased
I am very disappointed by the 2x12 not fitting into the kit, the instructions indicate that it should, yet how hard is it to make these things the size of a standard board? I have attached photos of the instructions, and the ramp not fitting into the kit. -(the board isn't straight in my cell - Photo taken from my phone, but it's real. As much as I would have preferred to return them, I drilled a hole for a third bolt before installing and I needed to use them today, so I had to keep them. Although they are usable as they are, I can't take the time to use them each day. Every time I use them, I'll make a comment about it, and my wife will get a little annoyed with me. The length isn't a big deal because I can calculate it myself, but it makes me wonder if these were ordered in bulk from China.

This ramp kit is very high quality, so we would probably buy it again! This can be used to increase the capability of a 4X4 Super Duty to tow a lawnmower
Our testing indicates they function well and can be easily installed using the hardware included with the kit. There are pins on the bottom of the tailgate that let you drill keepers into them if you choose. My old 2006 truck was used for this purpose. When my son loaded 1,500 side by side into the trailer, ratchet straps kept the ramps from rolling off the tailgate. These do not deserve five stars. I believe the kit which fits 12" wide needs three bolt holes instead of I use this two bolt system on my mower, but we needed to drill a hole in the center of the lower bracket, and add an extra, longer bolt for the upper bracket that goes on the truck bed of my son's mower.

With the supplied nuts and bolts, a drill and a wrench were all you required for fastening 2 x 12 treated lumber
I received the ramp kit in a timely manner after ordering, shipping, and receiving it. In addition to having top and bottom ends, this kit made a good impression. In our case, installing the ramp kit on 2 x 12 treated lumber with the supplied nuts and bolts was an easy application that involved a drill and In addition to the pins for the ramp's top, there are securing features as well. With a quick trip to the lumber yard, this kit makes a set of ramps that are easily affordable and very durable. Because I liked the first kit so much, I ordered two more to use for other purposes. For many years to come, it will be my pleasure to use our ramps.

You need to be cautious, but they do You should be able to make these yourself if you have A standard 2019 F150 4x4 with the front bumper at a 5 degree angle and the aluminum at a 15 degree angle
It would be better to have more bend in the 6 box. To make my planks 6'-0" long, I cut them The tailgate has to stick out 12" with the tailgate up since the truck sticks out 6". An edge needs to be rounded or it will scratch While it's OK for loading and exiting, due to the angle of the bracket, it's challenging. careful when using by measuring and stapling down to the bumper or trailer hitch before you use! You can make the angle better by backing up on a hill.

Those are some great ramps! In order to get into our SUV, I wanted to build ramps for my wife's scooter that folds up and can be wheeled into the back
There are all the pre-requisites It was only possible to find ramps that were either 6 feet long (too short/steep for pushing a scooter up) or 8 feet long (too long for fitting in the back of the SUV with the scooter loaded). Our use of ramps at 7 feet made this kit perfect for us since I could split the difference. The instructions were clear and concise the components were well made and durable. I couldn't find any improvement they could have made.
