Questions & Answers

If your bedposts are thick, you'll need screws that are #8 and a length that reflects their thickness. ?

Thanks for your kind words!

Can a bed hold a maximum weight of 400 pounds ?

While I do not know what the maximum weight is, with the mattress plus my wife and me, it is easily 500 pounds. A large amount of weight can be carried by this. Screws of the diameter of a #8 or thicker would be used for fastening.

I can't understand why the information only says it contains 4 pieces. How much hardware is needed for all four corners if there are eight pieces?

The total number of pieces is 8 and there is enough for each corner. The problem with them is that they tend to be noisy.

The rails I have are 5'' long. They want to know if the product still works How will it look once it's finished? There is a description that indicates it will fit 6" ?

Three hooks are on these latch fasteners, if you have noticed. It's possible that your fastners with 2 hooks may be required if your rails are 5 inches wide. A prohect bed is a challenge if you plan to build one However, if you're looking for replacement parts, just see if you can find fasteners that are identical to

While they work well, it would have been great to have this information included I love how well they work
5/5

You will get the hang of mounting them once you figure it out. After doing a test fit with some scraps of wood, I concluded these were things they should have included in the non-standard material Instructions already in place (Many thanks to Anon for sharing that tidbit. )) Use #8 wood screws. Keep in mind that no glue will be used, so the screws will carry the full force of the whole bed frame, mattress, box spring, bedding, people, etc. You don't have to worry about the hooks breaking, provided you aren't going overboard You won't have a problem with screws breaking if you use quality screws (I recommend SPAX #8 wood screws). There are four screws in each piece so you won't have to worry about them breaking. Unless you are very talented, DO NOT USE DRYWALL SCREWS. They will break the first time your kid bounces on the bed and you'll have to pull all the broken screws out over and over again. 2) the female part must be vertical, as the rail will lean one way or another if the female part isn't vertical. It is impossible for the bed to move once it is assembled.
3) be sure to mount the male part, the part with the hooks, so that it is flush with the rail. So I fix it using my favorite method of keeping it level (I clamp it in place and then drive the screw
). The fastener won't show metal when it's mounted on the rail because the rail won't have a lip in the end. In the event of a metal showing on the rail and the post during assembly of the bed frame, there will be a gap. 4) When attaching the male part, you will either have to drive the screws in fully (to be sure it's positioned correctly) and back the screws out a few turns or you can just leave the screws loose until the bed is assembled. It is important to have enough wiggle room in the male part since once the screws are fully driven in, there shouldn't be a lot of space between the rail and the hooks. 5) Assuming you've read #4 and the screws for the male part are loose, assemble your bed frame, tighten the screws on the male part, and then check the rail to the post over. This will result in a very cozy fit with no gap between the two.

A great product, but it does not come with screws or I am aware that someone may need different size screws depending on the material depth and the size of the bed, but maybe some stand 1" or 3/4 " screws would be nice
5/5

Maybe a bed template for the standard sizes, king, queen, full, twin, etc. I was able to make a custom fitted twin bed with bumpers that is substantially larger than the standard bed size, so it wasn't It is true that the average buyer may not be as familiar with the building industry as I am. These + notes cost about 1/3 of what they cost at Ace hardware or half of what they cost at any big box supply store.

This is a solid and strong foundation
4/5

This workhorse gets the job done, but don't forget to test fit it first! The design is solid. The rules don't apply. You can let loose without fear. When mounted, I made sure the end of the rails were touching the end faces of the corner post so the prongs of the male bracket were roughly flush with the end of the rails. If you are not sure about the bracket fitting, get the scrap piece of the board from where you cut it and test fit it on it. Here is how I used it Wood screws of 5 inches are used to secure the rails of the male bracket, but only 2 inches for the female bracket on my corner posts of 4x4. As it stands, these support my king pillowtop mattress, which is in turn supported by 2x12" frame rails. The strength of the body is not in question. The next time I build a Cal King will be my fifth order. I have only one gripe the offset for the claws on the male brackets is very small, making it difficult to hook the brackets Therefore, having a second person on hand will be very helpful when mounting the rail. So, all in all, everything seems to be fine.

This is a great product
5/5

It works very well, so it must be good. Similarly to what others have said, there is no instruction manual. As long as you're going to make your own bed, which is really what they're made for, you should be able to figure out how to use them. You can view other reviewers' pictures in Google or by looking on other reviewer websites. Holding the wood pieces together, and positioning the parts of the bracket, was all I needed to figure out where the "receiving" part should line up. This was attached after I marked the holes. Next, I had a helper hold the long piece of the bed, while I held the "male" piece and inserted into the "receiving" part, while marking where the holes should go. Despite what you might think, it's not that complicated at all. The ones I made with the Queen bed have been holding up fine, they are made of 2x6 end pieces, pretty solid.

I think this product is great, however instructions should be included
4/5

I think this product is great, however instructions should be included. Due to the fact that it does not, a word of warning! In the picture for this item, there are two brackets - one with a washer, the other with a backplate There is a left and a right piece (the left piece has the holes, and the right has the teeth, for lack of a better term). In reality, the screw for the left piece will be pushed down into the wood as a result of being screwed in. If that happens, the right piece will not fit all the way into the hole. Take care when you screw. It was just 2 months ago that I built my bed There are 14 brackets screwed to 2x12 pine that support the king size bed, and they are sturdy enough to hold it up. This is a terrific product, but it does not function properly when that piece cinches in, so be cautious.

Beds that squeak are cheap or else you should The brackets on the bedframe looked like just the thing for our king size bed frame, which I built, so we could easily disassemble and move it
3/5

But, when I received them, I discovered they were rather thin, and questioned their quality. Despite my hesitation, I installed them anyway and within a few weeks the clamps began to work loose and the frame began to squeak with little or no If you are not 100% sure there are no other people at your house, forget about doing any vigorous "activity. ". The squeaking stopped after I screwed the head and footboard directly to the rails. Taking the frame apart is much harder, but it is still easier than screwing the headboard to the rails. In the future, I will not bother with brackets. You don't have to spend money on a noisy bed unless you desire it.
