I thought these would be a perfect replacement for my existing cargo net for the back rack of my adventure motorcycle due to the dimensions. The first thing I noticed was how stretchy these nets are. Stretchy to the max. My knapsack, which was cargo netted to the back of my bike, was literally hanging off the bike when I arrived at my destination because it was so stretchy. I'm glad I didn't throw it away. Regardless of how tight the hooks are stretched, the net itself has far too much stretch for a smaller bundle and, in my opinion, isn't the best solution for properly securing items. br>br>For my bike, I went back to my (worse-for-wear) old net. br>br>As for these two nets, I'm not sure. Maybe they're designed to cover a much larger area and be *really* stretched to work better, but I'd question the longevity and durability of anything that's stretched to the max on a regular basis. To be fair, I could see them stretched out on a roof rack and being slightly tighter, but I wouldn't trust these nets alone to keep anything valuable from falling off. br>br>I'm very interested in hearing what other reviewers have to say, as I may be able to put them to better use.
I suppose I wouldn't mind the smell if I were using these to carry something on a motorcycle. It will be used to keep items from falling out of a pantry. In my pantry, I don't want anything with a bad odor! I've washed them several times with Dial soap and they've been hanging outside for about a week. Hopefully, the odor will fade away over time.
On a bicycle, I needed a way to keep my belongings safe. I had previously used larger versions of these types of nets on my motorcycle and hoped they would work out well, which they did. br>br>The two nets are delivered in separate packages. They appeared to be well-made, and the first one I opened had no flaws. The second one has never been opened or used. Having said that, I was pleased with the net's quality. The sizing is exactly what I was hoping for but wasn't sure I'd get, which is why I included a photo for comparison. The net can easily expand to carry a 12-pack of soda pop on a bike cargo carrier, for example. br>br>I've only used the one net a few times, but I've had no elasticity issues, which one reviewer mentioned. Based on my own experience and the feedback of others, I can only assume that the customer's experience was unusual. br>br>I can't think of anything I'd like to complain about. I am pleased with the product and the price, and I would recommend these bungee cord nets without reservation.
I have a front rack basket that is shallow (as seen in the photo). Despite having four bungee cords attached to the basket, my shopping items fell out twice due to bumpy roads. Because the cargo net is so thick, it keeps my bags safe and secure. The hooks are metal and have a rubber tip (as shown in the photo). When I was putting the net on the basket, all six tips fell off. I used dollar store super glue to adhere the rubber tips to the hook's end - The issue has been resolved. br>br>Quick shipping and safe packaging! br>br>Thank you, Amazon and Zoe Sunny!.
This has extremely small hooks, similar to those found on a bicycle rack. In comparison to a standard 2 1/2" bungee motorcycle hook, the hooks are only 1 1/2" long. These are made in China, which is fine, but they are junk with that size hook! I'll be back.
Other cargo nets I've purchased have broken or fallen off due to cheap plastic hooks. Metal hooks are sturdy and well-made on this one. Definitely a good buy and one that will come in handy.
Very let down. I used these on a trip once, and they worked great the first day, but by the second day, the stretch was completely gone. They were sloppy, and they were on the verge of becoming 1. Because the nets were no longer stretchy, hung loosely, and were massive, I had to tie my bag to the rack. In addition, after only one use, all of the rubber tips had fallen off the hooks.
They didn't fit my specific application on my ATV racks, as the title implies. Having said that, I was able to stretch them in a way that works fine, as long as you don't rip them up and overload them unnecessarily.
