They would look as if they were factory installed, and they are
5/5

The PL8140 Pop & Pod has received a large number of favorable reviews As soon as I released the trigger, I did not hesitate. Wow! That is the first thing I have to say. After ordering it the day before, I received it the next day! I was not expecting that to happen! During the install of my 2014 GMC Sierra SLT, Crew Cab, I tested out five different wiring harnesses. I was enthralled by the pop and hip-hop of the 60s and 70s Without a hitch, the installation of the lock went smoothly. My installation took around 60 minutes from start to finish and I could have done it in maybe 45 minutes, but I am very particular about the details, so I spent a little time making sure my wires were well hidden, securely clipped, and would look like they belong there, which they do. As soon as I opened the package, I looked up a video on youtube that a guy had taken while the installation was taking place. Originally I was going to make and post one myself but he was so good that I didn't think it would be worthwhile to do that. I watched his 7 or so minute video and I went out and bought a pop and a new grill I love the ease with which you can lock it at any time. Worked like a charm! All of the doors lock when I tap the lock button on my key fob once, including the tailgate. One time I hit the unlock button on my key fob, the drivers door locks it's like that since I pressed the key fob a second time to unlock the second door, and all the doors of the vehicle opened including the tailgate. I love it! That's how it should be coming from the factory! Exactly what I was thinking! In this case, I installed the option because I'll be installing a new Tonneau cover tomorrow and I ordered it with the keyless entry option, so I need to have the tailgate My tailgate is now automatically locked when I leave the truck, so I don't have to worry about forgetting to lock it! Very good product, highly recommended, it was a great idea and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat if I had a second It's a short video, but once you see it, any trepidation you may have regarding doing this yourself will vanish, it's so easy. If you have a GMC or Chevy Pickup, I strongly recommend watching the YouTube video.

I found the instructions to be inadequate for such an outstanding product
5/5

After installing the Pop and Swipe, I have a few questions. With the PL8140, I have the same performance as the OEM door locks on my 2016 GMC Canyon My model is not supported by Amazon even though it says so. Here is a short summary of my experience installing Putting in the solenoid and tapping the actuating cam is easy and takes only a few To connect the shorter wire to the solid plugs of the solenoid, I used the same wire routing technique I used for the backup camera cable beneath the tailgate. My next step was to stretch out the main (long) cable under the truck, reaching all the way to the front driver's After removing the step sill, I constructed the staircase as follows With light to moderate pressure, pull up from the rear first and it came free, then pull the large L-shaped piece in front of the parking brake forward and the trim piece that comes free came free as well. The main wiring bundle can be seen under the black plastic cover above the step sill. It simply pulls off with a little "bothering. " Several plugs are embedded in the metal floor of the garage below a carpeted area where the driver's left foot would rest Plugging the long wiring cable into the 1/4" hole on the bottom of the plug (I later sealed it with silicone) I then drilled 1/4" holes in the top of the plug from the bottom up. Several misfires (more about that in a moment) convinced me to find the right wires and connect to them with the wire taps provided. There are wire taps, but I found that they are difficult to use and I had to use pliers and persevere in order to get a good connection (you may want Here are the wires to find A bundle of wires of differing sizes and colors is included in the bundle With the knowledge that no two wiring bundles are similar, I was able to locate the Tan wire with yellow striped right on top of my truck. It is also important to note that there is a smaller tan/yellow wire in the bundle Decide which of the two is larger. Another, smaller wire, was next to the large tan/yellow wire. I believe it was grey in color. This was NOT the case It should have been dark grey (near black) in retrospect. After some fiddling with various wiring combinations and connections, I determined that the "grey" wire I had was not the correct one. My further search revealed the correct LIGHT GREY wire (also larger) buried in the middle of the wire Wire taps proved to be quite balky, but I made them work properly, and the solenoid and lock worked well. Taking the wiring cable backwards from the driver's door, I secured it to the main truck wiring as it snaked through the rear end of the truck, which is As I recall, this was a somewhat challenging procedure for me and I ended up using about triple the zipties that Pop & Co provided Install a lock to prevent unauthorized access. Make sure that the lock function with the key fob and the manual function at the lock are correct (don't forget-- Installing the Pop and Lock cam changes its operation -there is no longer a thumb screw to operate it. Here are a couple of things to watch out for It's all about the pop & roll Neither Lock nor his instructions are very detailed Check out the YouTube videos that show you how to do these things. It's unlikely that Pop & Co. will be much help Make sure that the lock is locked In terms of technical support, when I was having difficulties locating the correct wires, I called them After getting a voice mail, an attendant assured me they would get in touch with me right away. The name and number of the person I left a message for were Despite repeated calls, no one has contacted me today. It was only after several trials and errors that I found the correct wires. Make sure you have extra zip ties on hand. I hope you find this helpful.
