I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma and it works well
5/5

It's a myth what the vehicle compatibility checker says - don't believe it My 2017 Toyota Tacoma has no problems with this unit. There is no way to say I don't love my double cab short bed TRD Off Road! The installation was good but I have a few comments To replace the tailgate bolts, you will need a good T27 Torx bit (not one from a cheap freight company near a harbor) and be careful when tightening/removing the At least three of the bolts have been removed. There's a bit of a learning curve for wiring the assembly from your tailgate onto the underside of your truck. There are two rectangular plastic pieces to remove and you'll need to accommodate the factory camera wiring as well as the Power and Ground connections I broke both pieces of plastic when I cut the L actuator wire. Although it is possible, it is no fun. It is recommended that the wire runs along the frame rail of your truck along the passenger side. If you are running the wire behind an exhaust shroud, you can prevent it from getting damaged by the heat of the exhaust. It will become apparent to you when it is there. For the wire that goes into the cab, you will find a rubber plug under the passenger seat roughly in the center of the cab. The rubber grommet can be viewed by removing two 10mm bolts from a plastic cover (see pic). Install the L wire in the cab along with the factory wire. Wrap the wire back up, then replace the plastic cover to conceal the fact that you haven't got the factory service. In fact, the factory wire is even there, and you haven't compromised the weather proofing (which is already in place in your cab). Under the passenger seat, there is a wire that can be easily run into the wire channel of the door sill and into the kick panel of the passenger. It is not necessary to use tools in order to remove the sill plate and kick panel simply remove one plastic nut from the kick panel by hand. After it has been pulled straight up and out, the sill plate will fall Spring clips are the only thing holding them in place. Upon unplugging the two white wiring connectors in the passenger kick panel, you will see one black plug in the lower portion (the only one). The green and red wires below the black wiring plug represent the actuator wires for the passenger motor locks. Unplug the black wiring plug to unveil the lower green and red Here is a picture of the picture (attached). Make sure you use wiring taps or solder to connect to them like I did -- The color green turns to green, and the color blue turns It's not a good idea to use the taps that come with this kit. The end result is that your tailgate will be unlocked using your key fob as soon as all four (double cab) or both (access cab) doors are unlocked. As soon as the actuator is triggered, it produces a solid "clunk" sound Several people complain that it is too loud, but let's be honest. A TAILGATE is at work. All in all, I am very happy with this kit and this mod, and I recommend it to everyone driving a Tacoma. With this device, you'll never again have to worry about leaving your tailgate unlocked by accident.

I really like how it works
5/5

Installation takes a very long time. Then and now After installing the P&E, it took me about an hour My 2017 Toyota Tacoma is equipped with an L kit. You can download the PDF instructions for Tacoma on the Pop & Go website if the instructions that come with your kit (Tundra) are wrong Use the position lock to secure the website The t-taps are replaced with the included t-tapping The taps begin. There is no way to remove the included taps later without leaving a huge chunk of insulation bare on either side of the wire. There is a much easier way to remove the wire with metal taps because they puncture the middle of it. In my experience, installing the actuator was straightforward. Traversing under the truck to route the wires to the cab was the most time-consuming part. Then, I went along the driver's side and tapped into the driver's side door so the P&R could be activated is no insulation in the tailgate, so if you don't like the noises made by the actuator, it would be worthwhile to have sound deadening materials installed alongside the P&P.

The answer is yes It fits the 2016-2017 time period During the last 18 months, 18 Tacomas have been sold
5/5

On my 17 Tacoma, I just installed this recently and it works great. It is the wire positioning blocks that run from the tailgate to the lower bed area that are the worst. Do not follow the instructions on the instruction sheet from P & D. You need it for the Tundra, not the YouTube has a couple good videos showing how to install a Tacoma. A great place to eat is Chuck's. Using a drill to drill a small hole in the plastic wire block is a good idea. Keep the hole 1/8th inch from the outside edge when drilling a 1/4 inch hole. Next, your utility knife or wire snips need to cut a 1/8th inch wide cut on the side that leads to the hole you drilled. It is possible to flex the plastic to insert the wire into the drilled hole, and then to return it to its original shape. You can now slide the block into place, clip the larger cable (camera) into the block, and pop it back into the rectangular hole you created. Among the reviewers noted that the cable should be run along the frame, then I followed another conduit, and zip ties must be tied at each end. Make sure all the zips are on tightly (don't zip them too tight). The rubber plug under the passenger seat can be used to make a new hole next to the existing conduit, and then the new cable can be run through that. In order for the new wires to feed through the new hole, I had to tape them with electrical tape and attach a short (2") piece of coathanger to stiffen them. There are two green wires going to green and a blue wire going to red at the passenger side plug (at the front kick panel). There is a Lokitt Posi-Calculator I recommend 20 and 21 A kit that you can use. Since the tailgate operates like a drum, it is a bit noisy when it operates - but I prefer it that way. There is no doubt in my mind that it is This is great news for me.
