It was the first time I had been under a car.
The construction is super thin, and the welding is cheap. steel jack stands were as light as those made of aluminum by High Five. It would have been abhorrent for me to use them, much less try to Feel free to bag on Harbor Freight brands if you like, but they are much better in terms of quality and construction.
The jack stands in question would perform the same work as any other jack stands, but I purchased them because of their price as well as the pyramid base foot pads that not all jack stands come with. It is unknown what a difference the pads would have made or if they were just a gimmick, but the surface under the expressway isn't perfectly flat in any sense, and the jacks have never wobbled or failed during my experience with them On top of that, the pads are still in place after a year of usage on some really tough If you want to buy these, I say go for it! While I am not sure about the "cheap weld" some people have claimed, everything appears to be in good condition and I feel confident about putting my life on the line with these jacks. But always remember to take safety precautions before going under your car, of course.
As designed, it does what it is supposed In the air, hold a car. Welds on the ratchet/pawl and handle assembly appear questionable, but the rest of the assembly appears solid. When a heavy object is placed on it, it does not wiggle. The small spot welds are the only thing holding the cuffs together so I wouldn't leave them outside or anywhere with moisture since they could rust.
For me to lift a compact car, four jacks were necessary. The vehicle had been sitting in the garage for 10 months due to the pandemic. The person on the other side of the city was willing to go over and use the lifts to get the car raised so it would no longer rest We were told that they slide under our car without any difficulty by our friend who put the jacks under our car. We will find out when we are able to return to Arizona whether the tires have been damaged or not. As of right now, New England is safer than the rest of the country. In this case, we will remain in the same place.
A Few of these I purchased to replace some I lost during a recent move. I couldn't have asked for more at the price. I actually feel that they are built decently (they are actually designed better than I expected). We Used Their Services for a Brake Service and a Transmission Replacement This 2016 Ford Taurus SEL was rotated with a new set of tires It was their job to do what was required. There are no complaints because they're easy to use, in the exact way needed, and provide good results.
The teeth fit poorly into the ratchet, it is made of lighter metal, and it is welded poorly. I tested one and it failed when I inserted a block in it When the ratchet slipped from the tooth, the tooth cracked. As the only option available in the situation, I reluctantly used my trolley jack to lift my sedan hatchback even though they were not all that strong. With the thought of poor build quality at the back of my mind, I was unable to properly concentrate on the mechanic work. For the same price, I would strongly suggest that you buy a better quality set. Keep shopping. This product would work in a pinch, but I wouldn't put my life in their hands.
There is no limit to what you can spend on axle stands. With a price of $27 for a pair, these Tonda stands tend towards the economy end of the spectrum, but they are well built for their intended light duty. Both pieces of my set are neatly welded together and well finished in a silver and black color scheme. As of now, I have used them for supporting motorbikes and they are working well. The lighter weight of these stands fit the bill for my application because I needed an ease of use stand. They may not be the strongest construction of their weight rating, but they do the job, and at this price, there's not a lot you can expect from them.
