These stands are far superior to anything else in this price range, even if they are made in China. The lip area on the teeth contact is quite large, and the welds appear to be of good quality, with the pins providing additional safety. I was quite taken aback.
Each jack stand has a 6 ton carrying capacity.

I agree with you on some things, but not this. The box was badly damaged when it arrived. It looked as if it had been thrown and dragged. On the side where the majority of the damage was in the box, the paint on the jack stands had chipped and scuffed. That is not, however, the topic of my review. I would review the USPS if they wanted me to, but this is a review of the jack stands, not the delivery service. These jack stands are heavy, tall, and very well built! After seeing the packaging, I carefully inspected the frame for dents or bends, and everything appeared to be in good working order. Even with all the scratches, it was able to support my Ram 3/4 ton! And, of course, they'll get scratched and scuffed up over time; the paint doesn't add any extra holding power. 10/10 for the product, 3/10 for the delivery.
Even from Amazon, this was not what I expected. The stands appear to have been kicked around in a store for a few years. Welds are good, but the loose tolerances between the ram teeth and the handle pawl are large and frightening. The ram locking tooth and the secondary locking bar are separated by a large gap. There will be some movement until the lock bar engages if the main lock releases. Other jack stands I have are similar in that the bar is almost parallel to the tooth. br>br>I'm only keeping these because I'm too tired to pack them up (in the box that was in shambles when I got it) and I'm only putting 2 tons into the air. br>br>I was under the impression that paying $81 would get me an upgrade from the usual worthless garbage China dumps on the world. My assumptions were incorrect.
This is a problem that has been reported by others. I ordered two sets of jack stands (for a total of four), but they arrived with the boxes beaten to death. I understand that they are large objects, but the damage was greater than I believe is acceptable. Not only that, but one of the four safety pins had been misplaced. After attempting to obtain a replacement pin, I am unable to do so without returning two jack stands, all for a 3" small pin on the end of a chain. If I could go back in time, I would spend my money in a different way. It's not worth my time or money.
The Jack stands appear to be quite solid. I looked at how the pawl and ratchet fit together, and it appears that the pawl, like the safety pin, catches quite a bit of the ratchet. Of course, when I work, I always leave the jack under the car, but these stands will make me feel a lot safer. br>br>The packaging was a disaster. The box was ripped apart, and the ratchet piece was missing, so it banged against the stand, giving the impression that it had already been used. I don't believe it was simply a case of poor packaging and transportation.
I've been using the smaller 2T jacks for our cars for a while and they're fine, but I needed a larger jack with more vertical range because I recently bought a lifted 4Runner. I used to put wooden blocks under my smaller 2T jacks to raise them so I could get more lift, but it was getting a little dangerous. In terms of security, this was a wise investment. They're well-made, and I like that they have two safety features.
Stands for jacks that are extremely durable. I was most impressed by the quality and security of the product, as one of the lock pins was missing when it arrived via UPS. The box had been strewn about. I contacted Torin customer service, who immediately dispatched a lock pin. QUALITY! Great group of people.
The price is excellent, and the stands are of excellent quality. When dealing with items that could mean life or death, it's always best to go with a well-known brand with a solid reputation. I have confidence in this company because everything I've purchased from them has been of excellent quality.
These have a great locking feature that works well on my set and gives me more peace of mind while working under my truck. Because of the high lowest setting, they will not fit under smaller vehicles.
