In all, I spent $35 at the hardware store and on Amazon, where I got four pulleys, 200 feet of rope, wall mounts, other bits and pieces, and a wrench This kit contains everything you need to do your In addition, each pulley is rated to hold at least 400 pounds, so it has a theoretical holding capacity of 1600 pounds. My opinion is that this would be a much better deal.
The hardtop I chose will work with my installation. The length of the ceiling tile should match your ceiling height, but you must buy the right type of tile.
It doesn't matter if the studs are made of wood or metal, you need to drill through them. There is no need to purchase any additional hardware. Bolts and nuts are all there is to it. Not complicated at all, but a pain in the you know what
That would seem to be the case. There is just one thing that you need to make sure the ropes are in place correctly and you pull it up on your Jeep make sure it's going to work all at the same time. You might need a The height of an angled ceiling will determine how long it

It took about 3 hours. My Jeep top has been attached for about 3 months now - it's much easier to take it off when it's time. You should not hesitate to buy this product if you are looking for a top hoist with an affordable price tag. The update is just moved into a new house and I am carrying my hoist with me there. Installing it a second time was faster than installing it the first time. It has continued to work My new garage has a taller ceiling, which allows me to park underneath it without hitting the walls. There is nothing complicated about this hoist and it really I have owned the car for two years and have never had any.
So that I could still park in the garage with no issues, I had enough space to pull the front of my Jeep or my other SUV under the top. Is was a bit more difficult than I had anticipated to install the hoist. Our garage has beams which are hard to find and align so we had a difficult time finding the beams to screw into. Despite the ease with which we were able to remove the hard top of the Jeep from the ground and store it out of the way once it was in place. This is a must-have!.
It was just a few days ago that I purchased a brand new Wrangler 2 After opening the door, my first step was to read Amazon for instructions on how to remove the hard top. Due to the fact that I needed something that would store the top out of the way, I found this hoist system and decided to purchase it! I bought this lifting system due to its great reviews on Amazon. It said to use six foot boards, but I used eight (just in case) and it worked It was the first thing I did when I took off my top. I took it to the Jeep and used it there. The parumpum sound. The presentation is great, by the way! Thank you for this purchase! I am really happy with it! I appreciate your kind words.
A few basic tools come in handy for you Two drills, screw drivers, ratchets, and stud finders. You have solid lumber rafters parallel to the floor in your garage. You cannot use this product if your garage has a peaked roof without rafters. If your garage has wooden joists, you cannot use this product. In the case of beam rafters, this product is not appropriate (they look like two pieces of 2x2 wood with chipboard in the middle)*3. Reading and understanding instructions is something you can do yourself or hire someone who can do it for you. 4
A figure 8 knot is something you should know how to tie, or you could learn to do it. In addition to the 2x6 boards and lag bolts you need, you will also need a couple of 2x6 boards. In my case, it took me about one and a half hours to install, and I consider myself a DIY expert Below you will find photos of the 2x6's I had to install on my ceiling, along with a few of the steps I took. A final product is also required.
I bought this item for my Jeep top because I could not store it somewhere when I put my soft top on and I could not trust anyone to help me all the time. This item has excellent instructions and works great I highly recommend this to anyone removing or storing their hardtop alone.
In spite of the fact that I am new to Jeeps, I knew I had to take the roof off my Freedom to enjoy summer fully. Because the roof is too heavy and awkward for my wife and me to lift, we decided to hire a hoist. Our purchase is the one shown here. The instructions were not very clear and it took me a whole lot longer than I thought. I also thought that it would be helpful if the instructions were There could have been measurements for vehicles that are commonly found. In the process of transferring the measurements from the vehicle to the ceiling, I spent a lot of time. If you don't have two left hands like me, you might be able to do it faster. If you have two right hands, you might be able to do it faster. It would have been better to have followed my intuition instead of following the instructions for where to place the hoist points on the ceiling. When you hoist off the Freedom roof, the hoist points are placed above the outer edges, but I would have preferred that they be above where the straps are when the roof is lifted The straps would be pulled up straight when you pull the roof up, so, if you do this, you will get a clean appearance. Rather than a growing angle towards the outside. There seems to be a lot of strain on the pigtail hooks in the ceiling with the last foot or so of lifting. In the instructions you will read that this is for a 10' ceiling, though I think you could easily use it on 13' or 14' ceilings as well. There is a lot of rope left over that goes through the pulleys and I may have 15 extra feet of rope left (my wall is about 8' away from the place where the hoist mounts). My roof is long enough that I can lower it all the way to the ground with a 10' ceiling by simply using the ropes that attach to it. It is possible to leave the roof suspended instead of lowering it to the floor if you seldom intend to lower the roof all the way down. The hoist was attached to the ceiling, so I was able to lift the roof by myself once it was attached. A failsafe is built into the pulley system to prevent the roof from falling, so it can be done one-handed. In the end, we ended up adjusting the length of the straps quite a bit, so that they would lift the roof on both sides at once. We left the roof suspended for 2 months, then removed it. The skylight is just over the high point of the windshield with the hoist in place, though if the hoist points were different, and if we used shorter knots in the hoist ropes, it could be a little bit higher. You should note that this is for a stock Wrangler Rubicon. It has stock wheels and tires that do not include a lift kit. The Jeep will be too low for us to park completely under its roof once we lift it and put 35-inch tires on it. This weekend, I put the roof back on and it was very simple to do. It was just me and the dog In the end, I just lowered the roof of the Jeep after backing under it. There is a great deal of control available with a pulley system Several times I've tried it, I've stood right next to the rear corner of the Jeep and guided the roof down with my free hand. The only problem is that, once a corner touches down, there isn't enough weight to make the rest of the roof descend. It took me a while to adjust the roof to get it as level as possible, so it was pulling itself down as long as it could. Even so, I was the only one that worked on the roof and it took me only five minutes to fix it. Definitely recommend this product for first-time roofers, suitable for installing and removing roofs. Sets a high standard for quality parts and makes the job easy.
