My trailer has a full tongue from the first axle to the end of the tongue. Adding a side gate to a trailer without a full tongue would not make sense. For my 12,000 lb 20 foot trailer, I wanted to make a side loading gate. The side loading of a 2 ton pallet and the rear loading of two pallets makes the job much easier. On the front, the shot was used, while closer to the axle was the longer one.

The photograph shows almost twice as much as it is in reality. Due to it being considerably larger than what I needed, I was unable to utilize it. As you can see in the attached photo, I received an actual spring latch. My size was too big, so I had to return it.

With the help of expanded steel and this latch towards the top, I recently upgraded my trailer by replacing the side walls and weld a taller fence onto it. It has been working really well so far, and the latch is very thick and sturdy, easy to pull, and this spring assisted pin makes the latch very easy to pull. I welded it with my Lincoln MIG welder and sprayed it later with etching primer and spray enamel after finishing it outside in less than ten minutes. This latch is of excellent quality and can be used on.

They are being used on a 5x10 trailer with a ramp, and I was really surprised by their quality for the price. The parts are much stronger than the factory ones. A welding process is required.

Utility trailers are used to put swinging gates on them. There were a few minor issues that we were able to handle Having to adjust the pull handle so that it isn't wider than the latch enclosure is the result of the wider pull handle than the latch It is, however, impossible to retract the latch without the through pin sticking out to the side like this. Prior to welding the unit into position, it may be necessary to file down the edges of the part.

I love the quality of this product. Very strong, durable, and smoothly operated, but by the way the handle is so big you can't lock or unlock it far enough around. Be sure there's nothing in the way when you install this.

I have used the spring latches to make my plow mount easier to operate. If they ended up taking a little longer to go through the other side further, that would have been better. It has been a pleasure dealing with the company in the past.

This is a very solid, heavy-duty piece! If you have a trailer gate or another large gate, these latches are ideal. This is a solid piece of writing. To attach them, you will need to weld them in place!.
