Questions & Answers

Are these hubs designed for high-speed traffic?

I'm not sure what "high speed" means, but I typically drive between 65 and 70 miles per hour. No issues going 70 mph with a trailer.

Is it possible to use an 8-inch wheel with this?

Yes.

What is the diameter of the spindle that this will fit?

An 84 spindle can be used with this.

BT8 spindle? Is it true that I'm looking for something straightforward?

A BT8 spindle is a 1" diameter spindle with bearing numbers L44643 on both the inner and outer surfaces.

This Hub Kit is very nice
4/5

The hub kit arrived a day earlier than expected, which was nice; the bearings appear to be of decent quality, and I like how the races are already pressed into the hubs; the threaded studs are slightly longer than the ones on my old hubs; and there was one wheel nut that came with the kit that had a thread that was a little more difficult to spin on the stud. In a little more than an hour, I was able to install both new hub kits on my trailer, including greaseing the bearings. I have about 100 miles on the hubs and they are doing great and staying cool while trailering. I use an impact gun to put the wheel nuts on and off, which saves me a lot of time.

This set includes everything you'll need to replace a damaged hub, regardless of how it was damaged
5/5

br>Sometimes it's a frozen and spun bearing, and other times it's damaged lug threads. This time, it was a requirement to upgrade from 4 to 5 lug hubs in order to use better quality and larger rims. br>br>Included in the package is everything you need except the grease. The bearings have been pre-lubricated. br> greased, but not enough for a boat trailer. For marine use, you must improve. br>First, install the inside bearing and sealbr>Then glop grease into the area around the bearingbr>Then add grease to the inner part of the hub until you know there isn't enough clearance for the axlebr>Then install the assembly onto the axle without the big washerbr>br>Then add Amazon bearing buddy's and grease until all the air is forced out. br>Then remove the bearing buddy and install the washer (the washer can sometimes obstruct the flow of grease)br>Any precaution you can take to prevent salt water from entering the hub is worth the time unless you're willing to replace parts after they fail on the road. The proof is always the same when you see boat trailers on the side of the road with twisted off or burned out hubs; we've all seen them, and it's clear that care is the answer. This hub is the cheapest I've ever seen, but the machine work is on par with any I've seen.

It's used to mount a space tire
5/5

As a result, I didn't use it as a trailer connection. I needed to improvise a spare tire carrier mount, and this was the quickest way to get a flat surface with the correct hub pattern for mounting my spare tire to an existing swing away bracket. I bolted this hub to the existing carrier's frame, then secured the spare tire with the 5 lug nuts. I could have drilled the lug pattern on flat stock, but for the price, this was the most convenient option.

It's a simple upgrade with a low price tag
5/5

I paid $20 at a local yard sale for a set of 5lug 13" wheels with good tires! The 4 lug hubs were replaced with these, and the little utility trailer is back on the road for less money than it would have cost to replace the 12" tires.

For a blown trailer hub, these are good replacement parts
5/5

The parts worked fine; note that the kit does not include the spindle washer or locking nut, but the rest of the components were of good quality and fit perfectly.

The only issue I noticed was that the bearings and races were completely dry (no big deal, but even Harbor Freight uses a light packing grease to protect bearings) and were simply thrown in the same bag as the lug nuts and washers rather than being packaged separately, so they had a rough finish to say the least
