The axle spindle is welded to the axle
5/5

Any light-duty trailer that has a bolt pattern that fits your wheel and can be welded on square and plumb should be able to use it. If you are using a 110v hobby welder, do not try welding it on.

The fabricator needed just what I had
3/5

In order to construct an axle for a log splitter, I was considering using a Harbor Freight trailer, ordering a custom-made axle, or fabricating an axle myself. As a result of cost, I decided to build my own spindle hubs once I found this Using this set, I'm not even close to the cost savings I'd get from making my own axle. Identifying the welding requirements would be a bit difficult, but almost any decent mig welder could Measure and align the spindles, then tack the spindle on the opposite ends. Be sure to check that the spindle is true and square just before starting to weld. If the spindle gets more than a little warm, hold it in place and don't melt. After welding, cleaning, and painting are finished, the hub assembly is easy. Remove the bearings, grease them, and install the hub. Place a new bearing in the rear hub area, then install a new dust cap and grease the rear hub area. It is best to use a press to seat the back dust cap evenly. It is also possible to seat the rear dust cap by hand, but this There isn't a lot of thickness to the cap. The hub goes on, the bearing is greased, the washer is tightened, the cotterpin is inserted, and the exterior dust cap is put on. I have finished! You can create custom axle assemblies over that process and it is an affordable option. The product will be used again in the future.

A grease fitting is not present
5/5

As a result of the lack of grease being able to push in between the bearings, and the particulates pushed out, bearings are likely to wear out faster. I believe it should be added as it is simple to add. It took me a while to drill and tap a hole to add one. A fair amount of dirt and burrs are present in the hub, something that would cause the bearings to fail, as well. When putting it together, make sure you clean it thoroughly.

Hubs at the axle end of the axle are of high quality
5/5

When I built a small trailer for my 2002 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO, I knew from reviews that Southwest was a reliable supplier, but was pleasantly surprised to find how high quality some of the components were. This hub has been machined perfectly and the lug spacing is perfect. Top Grade Material, Close Tolerance, Easy to Fit and Weld First Class Craftsmanship Hub Assembly, everything needed for the axle end (except the tires) is included. Thanks to everyone who reviews the parts needed, and to Amazon for having such an outstanding vendor.

I received an order with no invoice or parts
5/5

When I received the supply I did not find any nuts or cotter pins with We were not provided with a telephone number with our invoice. Having already welded both axles in this order, I had to do the rest by hand. It cost me an additional $6 to buy nuts and cotter pins.

Glad to hear that
5/5

These are being moved around the farm on a small trailer, so they will not be used near highways.

I am very pleased with the price! I am very happy with the outcome! Although the spindles would be nice if they were drilled so they could be greased, this is a good deal for the price

I like this axle kit a lot! The sidecar I used this on was on a motorcycle
5/5

I really like it. There is no way to wear a dust cap. A major damage had been done to the dust cap while trying to install it. There's a serious problem with this kit, but it's still a very good one.
