The bolt holes are spaced 3 inches apart. I had the same problem; the 1 7/8" coupler I was replacing had two pins instead of one. 5 spaces between them. I simply threaded the front bolt and drilled holes for the rear bolts, and it worked perfectly for me.
The distance between the outside edge of the hole on top and the outside edge of the hole on the bottom is 2 1/2 inches!

This is a replacement for an old, rusted unit. On the 2, it is a perfect fit. The tongue on this trailer is made of aluminum and measures 5 inches in length. It's wonderful to have everything I need for my trailer project in brand new condition.
I needed this for a project to replace the tongue on my small boat trailer with an extendable tongue, and this was exactly what I needed.
It's difficult to find a witch who fits into both of these categories. Channel of 5" This one is a perfect fit.
It appears to be of a high standard. The only disadvantage is that no bolts are included. I used one 1/2 x 3 inch piece. One 1/2 x 4 bolt and a 5" bolt The safety chains are also connected to the trailer by a 25" bolt. The grade of both bolts is 5. Should be able to tow a 700-pound boat and trailer. br>Has a nice spring that extends the clamping mechanism further than most, giving you more room to position the ball under the coupler.
The parts appear to be well-made, and the tolerances and fit are better than I anticipated. The purchase was a success.
Thank you for creating such a wonderful product.
Even so, it's still a good deal. This thing is a beast, and I used it on my 4x8 trailer because that's the ball size of everything else I have. This one was twice as heavy and thick as the previous one. I had to drill some holes, but it wasn't a big deal. The pin on the chain, on the other hand, resembles a large bobby pin. That's something I'm considering upgrading to.
This 2" receiver was purchased to ensure compatibility with my other trailers. This is a well-made piece of machinery. I used harbor freight tools to install it on a 4x8 trailer. To install this receiver, I had to drill holes, which was a minor inconvenience. I would buy from them again without a doubt.
