Is exactly what is supposed to be done. It appears to be very well made, and the price is reasonable. The hitches operate just as well as or better than the big brand names that I have used in the past.
Because we have several trailers in the household, we wanted them all to have 2" hitch balls, so I replaced 1 7/8" on the small sailboat trailer with the new 2". Happy with my purchase.
The latch on this new one has a built-in lock, which makes it more secure than my old one. In order to unlock the lever, you need to push down on the latch. I had an old one that did not require pressure to open the lever, and because of this, it had popped open during a road trip.
My old 1 7/8 inch coupled was replaced with a 2 inch I had to replace the hitch balls every time I wanted to use it because it was such a small trailer. that it is being used more often, it will be more useful.
I switched over from my 1 7/8" hitch to this 2" hitch, so I wouldn't have to switch hitches constantly.
