The holes on this part didn't line up with the ones on my trailer, so it's made of thick cast iron. The ones in my trailer had to be enlarged. I doubt it would fit around a 3" tube, if I had to guess. This is supposed to go between the toung's rails (guides). At least, that's how it worked out for me.
I don't have the exact measurements you're looking for right now, but I can tell you that it fits an industry standard 3 1/2" channel receiver and that the bolts are between 4 and 4 1/2" long with a 2" spacing. When I get back to our trailer early next week, I'll try to get an exact measurement.
It's made to be mounted in a channel. You can find one by searching for "Channel Mount Coupler." It must be secured to the channel with bolts.

I purchased a used trailer with a pintle hitch, and when I went to pick it up, I replaced the hitch with this new hitch. I was able to reuse the pintle hitch's existing bolts. Everything came together perfectly, and the hitch worked perfectly. br>br>Note: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "creative Although this hitch came with the appropriate bolts, I chose to use the trailer's existing bolts.
The locking handle works flawlessly and securely grips your 2-pound bag. 5/16" diameter ball The product was well-made and resembled the image. br>br>The Negative - As shown in the photos, our box did not come with any bolts. We had to go out and buy bolts and lock washers that were 5/8" x 5" long. The bolts are included, as shown in the photos. If you're going to be pulling a lot of weight, make sure you get grade 8 bolts. The locking pin is also held on by a self tapping style screw, which will undoubtedly fall out and be lost. The chain was a good idea to keep the pin from falling out, but a better attachment method is required. br>br>For the price, I believe this is the best option available, and I am confident that it will meet our needs for many years.
Personally, I've never had a better time working with. I purchased two of these for various trailers. Completely foolproof and extremely functional. I've never had a better time with a ball hitch. The latch is spring-loaded, so if you're not quite on the money when hooking up your trailer, it will automatically lock in. This hitch would be mounted on all of my trailers if they were rail mounts.
This is a high-quality product that prevents slop in the connection. This is something I should have purchased a long time ago. br>br>I bought this to replace a shoddy one that came with my dump trailer. br>The previous one broke my 2 5/16 ball while I was trying to slide a load of shingles,br>then it ended up in the tailgate of my beautiful truck. It appears to be well constructed, and I used the buyers 5 position mount, which fits perfectly. The release lever has a smooth feel to it, and it locks on the front so you don't have to pin it to unhook it.
The finish and locking mechanism were far superior to the OEM part. br>br>I would recommend purchasing this part.
