NOT 2- The side holes are about 3 inches apart. 1/4"

I believe you could, but rust would form around the welds and where the galvanizing had been damaged by the heat. The bolt-on method was simple and effective. For my gheenoe trailer, I used two stainless bolts, which worked perfectly.
This 2" trailer coupler was just put in by me. On my trailer tong, I drilled 1/2" holes. The coupler's holes are 1/2" in diameter. 1/2" x 3" were the measurements I used. Bolts, lock nuts, and washers in the size of a 5" grade 8 bolt The 3" bolts were too short to get the lock nut on all the way. With the washers removed, 3" might fit.

Just what I needed to replace the pin hitch on the tongue of my Buffalo Turbine blower with a ball hitch. My yard is uneven in some places (ok, everywhere), and the pin hitch was constantly bending and breaking. That problem is no longer an issue, and the blower is now much more securely connected to the tractor. I removed the pin hitch with my angle grinder, ground everything smooth, and then painted the bare metal with Rustoleum before drilling it. With stainless steel bolts and self-locking nuts, I secured the new hitch to the trailer tongue, and it's not going anywhere.
On my 2" tongue, it's a good fit. I didn't want the spacer-filled extra-wide version. It had to have a unique look to it. After marketing the locations, I drilled the holes with an HF step bit. It only took four 1/2" bolts to get the job done. Changing the coupler on my new trailer was a lot easier than dealing with two different ball sizes.
I'm sure where they are now has become industry standard. br>To get the 7/16" holes (5), I used a smaller drill and various size bits. The hardware was zinc. This 2- The security chain bolt on the tongue as well as the trailer jack/wheel had to be moved back an inch or so because the new coupler was an inch or so longer than the old one. br>Keep this in mind if your trailer's tongue is shorter or has additional supports that could get in the way when folding up the front wheel. *Fresh paint and a new chain are on the way. Note: The side bolts measure 3/8" x 3" and the upper bolt measures 3/8" x 1".
I've always liked Curt's products, and I chose this coupler because it was a few dollars cheaper than two other brands. A huge error. It took 30 minutes, two shop rags, a razor blade, and a half cup of goof-off to get the job done. I'm going to start removing the label and all of the adhesive that's stuck to it. After that, the installation went smoothly, and it appears to be secure (as with any other I've tried). I'll think about something else next time, because this was such a pain to de-clutter. before putting it in place. It's worth noting that the installation itself only took about 5 minutes. The label is being removed. 30 minutes, 2 shop rags, 1 razor blade, and 1/2 cup of goof-off off.
Curt Manufacturing, doing business as eTrailer, has been a nightmare to work with. Today, the package arrived. ITEM IS IN THE WRONG PLACE. Except for the Amazon return address, there was no packing slip or other information linking my order to Curt. On Amazon, Curt's customer service page lists two phone numbers, one of which is no longer in service. You'll get "Mary's" voicemail on the other. I've sent an email to the company and will wait to hear back. Despite the inconvenience, I would have given them the opportunity to exchange, but the shortcuts they took and the barriers they erected have convinced me to shop elsewhere.
Don't forget to get your hands on some hardware. It's the ideal size for my new Polar 1500 trailer. There are no issues. br>br>However, just a heads up. There are no mounting bolts included. It took me a while to figure out what size bolts I needed: 3 inch long, 1/2 inch bolts with a regular and lock washer are required. At Home Depot, the total cost was around $6.
My old towing coupler broke and my jet ski trailer popped off and slammed into my truck, so I had to replace it. Curt, on the other hand, is here to save the day! This is an extremely high-quality coupler. The mechanism is very simple to use and secure. It is important to note that the bolting hardware is not included. The coupler is the only thing that needs to be changed. For a few dollars, I was able to get replacement hardware at Lowe's - If your hardware is outdated, it's well worth it. This is an excellent item.
This is a replacement coupler for my ATV/Snowmobile trailer. The original was functional, but it was extremely difficult to couple and then remove from the ball. The Curt MFG was a breeze to set up and keep in place, with no extra play. It was easily released by lifting the locking lever and pulling it free. Because my trailer lacks a tongue jack, the ease of coupling and removing it, as well as the peace of mind that it is securely attached, makes this everything I wanted. The bolt pattern and width were both good, and it matched the original perfectly. Another reviewer mentioned the label sticking, so I took it off slowly and carefully without soaking it in water, then used Goo-Gone to remove it. No problem, I went to get rid of the glue residue. br>This was the best deal I could find on a brand I was familiar with. An extra one was mentioned in the description. It took two days for Amazon Prime to process, but it arrived in three days. br>To summarize, I'm very pleased with this coupler; it was an excellent purchase!.
