Is it possible to screw the backing into place?

Sure, or welded, or pop riveted. Welding is simply the most aesthetically pleasing.

The flat top fender is the subject of this question. If the overall length is 32", what is the measurement of the top from front to back?

Is it possible to purchase mounting brackets rather than welding your own?

Because there is enough room on the bends, I mounted mine with self-tapping metal screws.

It's well-made and well-priced

These fenders are fantastic; this is the second set I've used in the construction of a flatbed trailer, and I can confidently say they outperform the rounded style. These fenders allow someone to stand on top as long as the fenders are properly supported at the bottom, and the person knows whether they weigh too much for the job they did installing them. The fenders' bottoms are flush with the bottom of the 2 x 2 trailer frame in this installation, and the distance between the bottom of the frame and the top of the fender is exactly 13 inches on the money. To put it another way, I'm going to run my top railing about 13 inches from the bottom of the frame, just above the fender, so I can weld a few small beads for support for the 2x2 tubing I'll run under the front and back. I would choose this style over the rounded one for the money. Five out of five stars.

I have no idea what these are; I only bought them because my father said he needed them. But he only yelled a few times while installing them, so I assume they're fine, and they're still attached as I write this review, so they're probably pretty durable. He's a picky eater, so if they weren't up to par, he'd have tossed them out. So yeah.

These were exactly as described and went on my trailer with no issues. Just keep in mind that they must be painted before being installed because they are bare metal and will rust if not.

The inside pannels (fender backs) are detached and must be welded together

These fenders are clearly in need of painting and welding. So, if you're looking for a bad review for some simple stamped sheet metal, you've come to the right place. It does exactly what it says. This is an excellent purchase. On arrival, there was no damage.
