Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with a Cadillac Escalade from 2007?

eTrailer. It's available for 117 dollars on com, and it's supposed to fit your car. The only thing you need to do is figure out whether you have 7pin wiring or not.

Is this compatible with a 2013 Silverado?

Chevy 07- 14 2500/3500, as well as 07- There is no plug for the plug-in 13 1500. in from the manufacturing facility There should be four wires wrapped around the dash, most likely above the e-brake. brake. These must be spliced into the Tekonsha brake controller's harness directly. As a result, all you'll need is a controller.

Will it fit in a 2003 GMC Sierra Duramax without modification?

It plugs in under the dash on the drivers side, near the parking brake, on my 2003 Hummer H2. I'd do some research on the internet and possibly on YouTube. Because GM trucks and SUVs are so similar, this is a very likely option for you.

Don't scrimp on a Tekonsha; you won't regret it
5/5

I've previously installed several Tekonsha controllers and refuse to use any other brand. I used to fight the old school "dumb" controllers, and they're not only more trouble than they're worth, but they're also dangerous most of the time, in my opinion. Inertial controllers should be prohibited because they do not work well even when used correctly, which many people do not. These controllers almost work like magic once you get them set up correctly; no jerking, no lag, no over- or under-application, they just work. br>br>I've installed the P2 in several trucks and am very pleased with it. This time, I chose the P3 because it allows me to save settings for different trailers. I tow a variety of trailers, each with its own set of base settings, which can be inconvenient at times. For about $15 more, why not? br>br>Installation was a breeze for me, taking about 5 minutes, but I've done this before and am a professional mechanic, so this is about as simple as it gets for me. Most installations take about 15 minutes to complete. The included bracket is mounted with two self tapping screws, and the unit is mounted with two screws. Because I don't remove the unit, the quick bracket isn't necessary for me, but it does the same job. The steel support beneath the plastic panel beneath the steering wheel has proven to be the best location for mounting. You can put it wherever you want along that rail, but I prefer it right over the throttle pedal. It's easily visible, accessible, and never gets in the way of my activities. It's entirely up to you where you put it; just make sure it's visible and accessible for adjustments and emergency use. I considered a few other options, but I couldn't think of anything better, so that's where it ended up. br>br>The included harness was a perfect fit and everything worked as it should. Note that all GM trucks require the 30 amp FMX fuse to fully power the trailer; the controller socket is sometimes populated (as it should be with a towing package), and sometimes it isn't. A second fuse is required to populate the constant power feed to the trailer (for charging the breakaway battery and other accessories if equipped), as the first is never populated. Get an extra and keep it in the glove box just in case. These fuses are around $4 at your local parts store. br>br>I can say that this works as it should after setting it up and driving with my trailer for a while. You have to play with it a little to figure out where the trailer likes to be, but once I did, I just drove without a hitch.

We got more than we bargained for
5/5

First and foremost, I only write reviews when something is truly exceptional. This is an excellent product, and the seller is exceptional. This was something we ordered before we went on our first trip in our new RV. I was concerned that it would not arrive in time for my husband to set it up. He contacted the seller, who assured him that it would arrive before the Amazon deadline. It arrived EARLIER than the sales associate had predicted, and it only took two days to get to Oregon! br>In our 2003 Chevy Silverado Duramax, Hubby said it was a breeze to install. He claims that it performs admirably and as expected. For the price, this is a high-quality brake controller.

Check out the most recent version! Because my vehicle had a tow hitch, it was extremely simple to install
3/5

Because my vehicle came equipped with a towing package from the factory, it was incredibly simple to install. There are only two mounting screws and a plug under the dash. The directions are very simple to follow. Switching between a loaded trailer and an empty trailer is a breeze with the storable settings. When you get the proportional braking just right, it's very adjustable and precise. I even made my unloaded trailer setting's background color green, and my loaded trailer setting's background color blue, so I could double-check with a quick glance at night. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. I've had it for 5 months and the up and down buttons don't work, so I'm stuck with either maximum or minimum brake voltage. It worked flawlessly for four months, but now the buttons are unusable. This item, which used to be a five-star item, is now a two-star item. I'm hoping to get it back to you. I'll keep you updated if there are any changes.

This is by far the best brake control I've ever bought
5/5

This is by far the best brake control I've ever bought. The unit came with a plug-in adapter for easy installation; just make sure the brake control is pointing in the same direction as the car when mounting it. My unit was set to 6 and the brakes were locking up, so after testing the brakes, I reduced it to 3 and followed the instructions for setting up the emergency brake control. This is a crucial step to take. I did all of this the first time I went out, and it came to a complete stop with no jerking. It's as if you're driving a truck without a trailer attached to it. I'm very pleased with this unit after being jerked back and forth for more than 30 years of trailering.

It was a wise decision
5/5

For this inertial model, I swapped out my old "analog" controller. It was a wise decision. Our old trailer was replaced with a newer, larger, and heavier one. Because the new trailer is roughly one ton heavier than our tow vehicle, and we tow in a variety of conditions in the Pacific Northwest, I appreciate the adjustability, boost levels, and digital feedback provided by this controller. The brand-specific harness made installation a breeze. In 15 minutes, you'll be ready to go. The only disadvantage is that it remains active for 15 minutes after being turned off, but this isn't a deal-breaker for me. It's a nice upgrade, and it's a lot less expensive than getting your brakes replaced.

In this class, this brake controller is the best on the market
5/5

The best brake controller you can buy aftermarket. For my Jeep, it was extremely simple to install. The configuration process is simple and intuitive. All of my questions were answered by the instructions, which were simple to read. There are no issues. Make certain you purchase the correct adapter for your vehicle.

Expectations were exceeded in a big way
5/5

This had to be the simplest installation of anything I've ever done on one of my cars. Of course, GM deserves some of the credit because they pre-empted the situation. My vehicle was pre-wired at the factory to accept a controller. However, when it came to the P3, I removed a wiring block cover under the dash, plugged in the wiring harness, mounted the bracket to the dash, mounted the unit to the bracket, and then plugged in the other end of the harness to the P3. Oh, and in order to power up the trailer wiring, I had to go under the hood and remove a dummy fuse plug and replace it with a 40 amp fuse. It's that simple.
