It is, in fact, a plug-and-play device.
That's correct.
My harness came with it, but it also comes with a generic harness that can be used. When I placed my order, I double-checked with the seller to make sure I got the correct harness.
Yes, this controller will work if the included harness is used. Is there a new connector for 2021 from Ford? I have my doubts, but it would be nice to know for sure. In the worst-case scenario, you'll have to buy a new adapter.

Reached under the dash, unplugged the old cable, plugged in the new one, installed the snap-in holder in the same location as the old one, plugged in the P3, unit started right up, and I set it to B-. 5 (I'm towing a Fox Mountain 28-foot RV with a F-350 diesel engine. ) One ton is 350 pounds. This winter, I'm planning a 6000-mile journey to Georgia and back. P3 is highly recommended.
Under the dash of the truck, there was already a plug connector, and the plug This was made a lot easier to install with the help of a play wiring harness. It simply connects to the factory connector before being connected to the brake controller. A quick-release plastic mount and a permanent metal mount are included with the controller. Because I don't need the controller all of the time, I used the quick release mount, which is very easy to adjust and has excellent boost settings. Tekonsha brake controllers have always been a favorite of mine, and the P3 is no exception.
a number of years The provided harness did not appear to plug directly into the F350 harness, as stated in the product description. it does. However, Ford made it difficult to remove enough of the dash to disconnect the existing pigtail/harness and connect the new one to the factory lead (2 hours). The most difficult part of the installation was not caused by Tekonsha. br>br>It was a good upgrade to pull a heavy dual axle trailer. Everything went off without a hitch.
The Ford harness that comes with the kit makes installation a breeze. This brake controller has a great look and is very easy to use. I was torn between the P3 and the P2, and I'm not sure which one I would have chosen would have made a difference. The P3 has different color screens and allows you to save vehicle profiles so that you don't have to re-program the brake controller every time you switch vehicles. everything needs to be adjusted I do wish there was a way to turn it off, because it warns me every time I get in my truck that I don't have a trailer hooked up, and it then stays on for 5 minutes after I turn it off and exit the vehicle.
It works, and I like the trailer-setting options, but it drains my batteries because it never turns off. I suppose I'll have to take action in this regard.
Technology in brake controllers has progressed significantly. This isn't the first time this has happened. It's a great product that's also very simple to set up. I'm very happy with the unit's performance and results.
This was installed in a 2001 Ford F450, and we tow 9900 lb chippers, and it works great. br>br>It's simple to set up and use. br>br>It's as good as the built-in systems on newer trucks.
The picture shows a wiring harness, but it did not come with one when I received it, so I had to buy one separately.
