It was plug-and-play when I got mine for a Nissan Armada (2005 model). It appears to be a standard plug, in my opinion. Wishing you the best of luck with your application.
It comes with a mounting shell, but it fit perfectly in the slot under the radio in my 2012 Nissan Frontier. I drilled a hole in the back and threaded the wires through it.
In a 2012 Frontier, I installed mine. It took me a long time to locate the factory plug, which I believe was located to the right of the steering column. It fit perfectly into an open slot beneath the heater controls, where I had cut a hole in the back to run wires. Adjust the braking force according to the instructions once your tow vehicle is connected.
This was purchased for my 2013 Pathfinder, and it easily connected to the vehicle's wiring harness. I didn't need to use the wires that came with my Nissan towing package because the unit came with an adapter.

So when I needed a brake controller for my wife's new Armada, I knew exactly where to go. br>br>They've made some updates since I first installed mine over 13 years ago. The one that worried me the most was the switch from red to blue display LEDs, as well as the complaints about being blinded by them at night. When powered at the same voltage level, blue LEDs are noticeably brighter than any other color. This is something I've seen happen at work with servers in racks. To work at the terminal, we had to cover the ones at eye level with tape. Thankfully, I received one of the most recent models, which corrected the issue with the overly bright LEDs, and it worked flawlessly all day and night!.
I used to have the old style, where you had to fiddle with the power knob all the time. There will be no more squeaky brakes or trailer wheel locking. With various trailers, it always works perfectly.
It's the second time I've done it. I needed one for my new truck after trading in my old one, so I ordered this one. Installing it is a breeze, and it is always dependable.
It really works. In my 2011 Nissan Titan, it was extremely simple to install. This unit has a great appearance.
The direct plug-in to Nissan factory wiring is particularly appealing.
My Nissan Titan did not come with an electronic brake controller when I purchased it. The OEM controller was too expensive, and this Prodigy 2 replaces the built-in controller perfectly. It looks fantastic.
I installed it on my 2005 Armada after reading one of the reviews. I removed the lower dash cover, which was located directly beneath the steering wheel - On the upper left side, there was a connector for the brake control - and it was simple to set up! Run the wire across the dash and connect the control unit on the right side. I am very pleased with my purchase, and installation was a breeze.
Fits into the Frontier wiring harness like a glove. It is very simple to set up.
