Questions & Answers

What gives Amazon the wrong impression that it will not fit my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK? Aren't they all pretty I don't have a factory harness, so I don't know if that's the reason. ?

That should be the case. The two types are the same. In order to connect the unit to your factory wiring, you will need an additional harness. I got the same treatment from Amazon for my Tacoma, despite it being the only controller that was compatible. The design is great and the size is pretty compact. It should fit in your Jeep nicely.

Can you tell me the dimensions of this unit (height, width, and length from ?

There is an inch of height on each side. There are two dimensions to the width. I am 75 inches tall. This piece of text is 4 inches long. This is a 0 inch. Wires stick out from the back of the pigtail. If the bracket is used, the height will be There are 5 inches and 3 inches. The width is 0 inches, and the length remains the same.

How do I turn the LED indicator off and on? Does it stay on all the time or is there an off/on switch?

A constant light output is produced by the LEDs.

Can I use it with my 06 Dodge Ram if I buy the pigtail to fit it?

I purchased one to go with my Silverado for $15, it depends on the vehicle

I found the best deal for a proportional controller
5/5

Over the past 40 years, I have used all sorts of brake controllers, but I decided to try one I had heard some good things about - the "Proportional" version. In December 2016, I saw that this was available at my local Home Depot for $75, and then found it on Amazon for about half that price. It's interesting that I couldn't find this device on Reese's website, with their "Timed" versions only. That may mean that it is retired, but this offering was by far the best deal I could find on Proportional. A must-try you'll not be disappointed. I had no problems installing the program. When the device is mounted within the attitude parameters indicated on the instructions, the internal gimbal or accelerometer will automatically level or center the device. It would be easy for me to mount (in my existing or historic Velcro was used to mount mine instead of the bracket since I use it on more than one truck. The Tekonsha adaptor harnesses recommended by Reese are available on Amazon for less than $20 for most popular vehicles, and I recently bought the adaptor harnesses for my GM and Ford trucks. The initial setup took just a few minutes within a few blocks of my parking lot, and fine tuning is easy to do on the fly Here's the - It is necessary to make quick changes in order to account for the changing road and traffic conditions on the fly. My experience with the device has been very positive In the last couple of months, I have tow my 16-foot trailer with my Bobcat both in clear highways and in heavy snow and traffic. In comparison with my previous "Timed" devices, my new device has a faster, smoother stop response. Another will be ordered to put on the shelf as a backup.

It's super easy to operate, but you'll need a harness to fit Buying this controller was for keeping our RV trailer brakes in good working order
5/5

I installed the unit on my 2010 Tacoma with no problems - just plug and play A literal translation. There is one thing you do need to buy, though a harness to connect the controller to the preamplifier The connection is wired. It is a Tekonsha 3040-based printer With this adapter, I was able to control the brakes through Toyota's P brake control without any issue. These are a few things to keep in mind Please note - The brake adapter needs to be aligned with the direction of travel, so you need to find a good place to mount it*. You can easily adjust the settings, so find a place that works for you
I found a good spot on my dashboard where I can easily make adjustments while driving -
Do your homework

I found a good spot on my dashboard that I can easily access while driving. Despite the fact that this is adaptive and minimal changes are needed, you may still need to fine tune it to your preferences. It is a control that I highly recommend. TEACCH models with the towing package are able to tow up to 6500 lbs. In spite of the long drive through the mountains, braking was easy without any issues for a trailer pulling a 5300.

It's a nice little control
5/5

As a contractor, I haul skid steers, dump trailers, mini excavators, etc. behind a 1 ton with a factory break controller all of the time. It's a fantastic little break controller I use on my 1/2 ton when pulling a boat. It does its job well. You will be able to install the pigtail in less than 15 minutes once you obtain the right one. A quick update The controller helped me tow a 45' camper from OK to PA with my 1/2 ton Chevrolet. A brake controller like this is the best on the market.

The Tacoma is a perfect match for this small and compact box! The light switch fits perfectly into the cubby in the left side of the dashboard
5/5

I used a screwdriver (or other prying device) to remove the trim around the light switch box. There are four tiny screws holding the cubby to the trim. I unscrewed them. A hole was cut in the back of the cubby and I inserted the brake controller wire harness through it. Screws were inserted into the sides of the cube, which were used to mount the controller. A brake controller with Tekonsha 3031 is plugged into the system This harness connects to the P adapter. Lastly, the factory wiring should be connected to the adapter harness. It looks good and the cubby can be operated with the buttons on the controller still working after reconnecting the trim and inserting it back into the dashboard. The rubber mat fits still in the bottom of the cubby and you can also work the controls. A quick update I was able to drive the Bear Tooth Pass Highway without a hitch. A logical and automatic system. That has got to be the best controller I've.

It is easy to use and small
4/5

It took less than 30 minutes for me to install this on my 2009 Honda Pilot. My biggest problem was finding a good spot to place it under my dash so that my knee wouldn't hit You should be aware that this is NOT a "mount anywhere" device, but it does have a surprisingly wide range of mounting options. This device is also fairly compact, and can be accommodated in many locations. It is important that you obtain the correct wiring harness if your vehicle has a factory installation A tow wired into the vehicle Installing it this way speeds up the process enormously. Additionally, vehicles that have been previously owned There is a possibility that towing controllers may not have all the circuit fuses installed. It occurred to me with my Pilot that the controller had failed, which caused me to panic.

You made an excellent choice, though I have one small suggestion
5/5

Its a great controller. I wanted something that was inexpensive that would get the job done, and this is the product I needed! It was very easy to follow the instructions. In total, I spent 30 minutes installing and configuring my system. Here's what it looks like without the factory adapter. The factory wiring was present since I have the tow package but there was no adaptor to connect to the It was a simple matter of cutting the wires and making insulated male-female It has female spade connections so that it can be easily removed if needed in the future. Setting up this system is a breeze if you follow along with the instructions. As for mine, I didn't need to adjust anything. I just wanted to give you a heads up - Make sure that you choose a location that is suitable for For work, I wear jeans, and I have almost always snagged the manual brake lever with my jeans. I like how it has a [somewhat] sharp edge that is attracted to It's not a big deal, but I just wanted to let you know. The overall impression is great! The product is great, and the price is awesome.

This package does not include universal pigtails
4/5

I am using this controller with a single axle trailer and have found it to work fine. There is a star taken off because the universal pigtail is not included. In the documentation, there was a back and forth as to whether or not it should be A mixed bag of answers could also be found on the Amazon questions section. During the instruction section, there is a reference to using the universal pigtail included, but another reference states that the parts are included and does not mention think it's a good idea to provide a universal pigtail for everything that comes with an odd.
