For the past five years, I've been using a Rugged Ridge 8500 (3/8" wire rope) winch with these snatch blocks, and everything has worked flawlessly. The snatch block has a grease fitting, which will help it last longer.
Just one
Because mine arrived dry, you'll need to use a standard grease gun to grease it.

What you pay for is exactly what you get. Several snatch blocks were required to transport a shipping container. These were purchased to supplement the ones I already had so that my tractor would have enough pull. They functioned during the pull, but one of them was missing the snap ring when I disassembled the cable. The block continued to work despite the fact that it had popped off during the pull. The snap ring groove is barely an indentation on the shaft, which to me means it's gone, and the replacement snap ring will likely pop off in the same way. br>br>In addition, the holes at the top of the snatch block are too small for a chain hook to pass through, necessitating an unusual chain setup to secure them. br>br>In retrospect, I should have just paid $12 more each and gone to the local TSC where I had gotten my other ones before the pandemic. br>br>I believe that you get what you pay for when it comes to these.
I bought four of the snack blocks because they work well, but two of them had their retainer pins fall out, so I'll have to replace them. Because I am a co-owner of a tow truck company in Alaska, they will be put to the test on a daily basis. They're okay for the price, but I'm concerned about the pins coming loose. br>All four of the update clips that hold it together have fallen off. They're as dangerous as those wriggling vheicles.
It's well made; I used it on a magnolia tree double line pull, and the outside c clips failed, causing it to explode; however, I gathered all the parts and reassembled it with hardened clips with no issues.
It's fantastic.
It's a fantastic product that's also very simple to use. Has a grease-making ability. Well-made and durable.
Snatch blocks are useful tools for increasing the pulling power of a winch and are simple to use.
