China. It's all there. They will do everything they can to make you believe it was made in the United States. They also mention break strength rather than WLL. This is the "13. If you look closely, you can see that the Snatch block is rated at 9,000 pounds.
It's for 3/8", so you might be able to get a 1/2 in there, but it's risky.
I'm not sure what the difference is between the Rhino block and the ARB block, but I can say it's a fantastic tool. It's not only a useful tool, but the company treats you like family. Despite the fact that I purchased this block from Amazon, I continue to receive emails from Rhino USA with information and special offers.
Selected User Reviews For Rhino USA Snatch Block for Winch Recovery - Heavy Duty 13.5 Ton Break Strength - Compact Offroad Accessory for Jeep, Truck, UTV, ATV - Use with Tree Saver Tow Strap (Snatch Block)
Rhino USA is committing what is known as honest deception. The praise this block's 13 on a regular basis. It claims to have a 5 ton breaking strength but never tells you what its working load limit is. They haven't lied in any way. They've just duped you into forgetting the difference between the working load limit and the breaking strength. I'm not going to buy anything from Rhino USA again because I don't trust them to tell me the truth about what I need to know. I'll put this block in the bottom of my truck toolbox and use it when I'm confident that my 13,000-pound pull winch won't exceed the block's working load limit of 9018 pounds. That is, it is unlikely to happen.
Despite being made in China, this snatch block is large, heavy-duty, and of high quality. It appears that they go to great lengths to convince you that it is made in the United States. However, this is not the case. The sticker had been found. On the bottom of the box, it's incredibly small. I would have given five stars if they had just told me that, but if it keeps me out of a ditch, I guess I won't mind.
The large number 13 is used to promote the product. 27,000 pounds in 5 tons! In reality, the maximum load capacity is 9,000 pounds. Not to mention the fact that the roller is made of plastic. The exterior is well-made, but the cheaper roller and lack of advertising on the actual working limit are huge disappointments. Will be replacing it with one that has a metal roller and bearings.
I've used this snatch block with steel cables to recover two plow trucks that had gone off the road, and it's performed admirably both times. I intend to purchase a few more to increase my pulling power by a factor of three.
gear for the road I haven't had a chance to put this snatch block to use yet. That's probably good news, because it means I haven't gotten stuck or encountered anyone who has. Yet. Allow time; however, I thoroughly examined the block when it arrived, and it is unquestionably of high quality. It has a good layout. It's nicely packaged - I'm leaving the foam inserts in place until I need them, and I just put the entire box in the back of my Excursion's recovery gear crate. I'll be sure to update my review once I've had a chance to use this block!.
The tree saver arrived promptly, but the snatch block had vanished. It turned out that it had been shipped separately, with a different tracking number, but the entire order had been marked as delivered. With a quick message to Rhino USA, the entire order was squared away the same day, and the second tracking number was passed, and the entire order arrived at my house in a matter of days.
I use a cable connected to a comealong to secure this to a "binding" tree and use it to "guide" the fall of a tree I want to remove. It's been extremely beneficial because the stress can be quite noticeable at times. It is of superior quality and safety, as opposed to the "cheaper" route, which may become damaged, causing it to "slingshot," resulting in a potentially dangerous situation. Rhino's products are excellent, and I strongly suggest them.
I really like the quality of the snatch block. It's well-made and not as cheaply made as many others. In terms of usage and work load parameters, this is a super heavy duty machine. Its simplicity ensures that anyone can use it without difficulty, and the straps, which I also have in a 30' length and soft ties, are of exceptional quality and strength. For the excellent quality, the price is unbeatable. Rhino USA, I believe, will quickly dominate the vehicle recovery market due to their low prices and excellent quality, as well as their lifetime warranty. That's LITERALLY impossible to beat.
