It appeals to me. I originally purchased this because I had already purchased a one-ton winch for my four-wheeler and liked the idea of being able to double the pulling power. I didn't think it was a big deal because my ATV weighs less than 2,000 pounds. However, if you read the winch manuals carefully, you'll notice that the power rating of most winches decreases as the motor is run longer and the cable is extended further. As a result, the concept of mechanical advantage became much more clear. With powder coated steel plates and what appears to be an aluminum pulley, the block is sturdy and heavy. I'm confident it could easily support a half-inch cable. Once you have one, you'll discover a plethora of other uses for it. I've attached a photo of me using my ATV and rope to tow a broken lawnmower up a ramp into my pickup. These make even the most difficult tasks much less difficult. If you use it in conjunction with a tree strap, you'll have a lot more options if you get stuck.
I had previously ordered these and found them to be so useful that I decided to order a second set. They're more expensive this time, but they're still a good deal. I use them on my ATV winch, among other things, and I've even used them without issue on a Jeep. If you're looking for a truck accessory, I'd recommend going with a larger unit (16000lb).
For the past two months, I've only used it on my ATV front loader. It makes no difference. The hole in the side plat, where the axle runs on the bear steel. You'll be glad you took the time to do so! We were in desperate need of a snatch block, and this is exactly what we got. When you hold it in your hands, you can feel the quality because it is well-made in the United States. It was put to two-fold use by us. To load a gun safe into an enclosed car trailer (4000lb Superwinch), cut a winch cable in half. Pulling the winch cable straight on would have been too fast and risked ruining the day. When the snatch block was used, the rate of travel was slowed and the pulling capacity was increased. The massive gun safe we were dragging weighed in at over 1,200 pounds. As a result, it is not the low-cost variety found in a supermarket. The dolly for transport- This event put the wheels to the test, but it was a success in the end. Needless to say, everyone who was a part of the event was blown away by the KFI ATV's performance. Snatch block by SB. More sales followed soon after. .
When hoisting an elk, I recommend pairing it with a chain. It's sturdy enough to hold, and it's easy enough for my 10-year-old son to set up and install. It's well-made and one of those items you don't necessarily need, but it's always handy to have. It makes everything easier to understand. Fortunately, I've never had to use it for what it was designed for. yet.
This is only for ATV use. As a result, it will never be overpowered by my 2500 pound Superwinch. I'm using 3/16" synthetic rope, which appears to fit the pulley nicely. Because the pulley lacked a ball bearing, I disassembled it and greased everything with high-impact grease. It now spins with a great deal of smoothness. I'm very happy with my purchase, and Amazon delivered it quickly and in good condition once again.
Today I sunk my sxs in mud, which devoured my 29-inch outlaws. Due to the mud suction, my 4k winch was unable to pull me out. I used this block, and it immediately drew me out. A++++.
