Plastic housing on the exterior of the plug has a D-shaped shape. My Warn 16 does, however, fit the internals, but they are round. I have no problem with the 5ti.

This is 5-Ti. A Warn 9 was installed on a Jeep I just purchased. In addition to the winch, it also had a 5ti remote, which is difficult to find in almost all used cars with a remote. Plugging this in was a snap, and I was able to see that the solenoid in the winch was bad, probably why there was no original remote. In any case, the remote works perfectly and plugs directly into the TV.

The Warn 9 seems to fit right in. It has the same 6ti winch port as the original and operates like it I have had no issues with this (and it has not shorted out). What you might expect from Warn is all here. The only thing I'm happy about is that this has been my winch since I bought it.
