Start by checking all your cords, including the ends of all the wires going to the solenoid, switch, If the two wires leading to the switch are shorted, try it again. is working at that point, the switch will be most likely to be the culprit. It is recommended that you connect the wires from the battery directly to the winch motor if you don't get any results with them. You may need to replace your solenoid if none of those things work.
There is a clip on the switch Designed to mount on the handlebar, this device works similarly to a clamp.
The solenoid is all there is!
You must ground the battery only through the negative lead. Approximately a year ago, I installed mine and have had no problems since then. It has not even been necessary to replace the remote's batteries.

I bought this in case I need a backup for my Relay At present, we are using the contactor. This device has only been tested for functionality on a bench, and it reverses the polarity on the winch as expected. The function of a motor is determined by the control system A position switch is required. It is controlled by An on-off switch (not included) should act both momentarily and continuously SPDT type has been switched off. As illustrated in the diagram included with the unit, this unit assumes a certain wiring harness, making it difficult to interpret for general applications. To make things more clear, I've also added a diagram of the interior of the black box I am using Please note About 3A of current is drawn by the coils of the Contactor relay at.
I tried to hook my plow to my Polaris SBS and the winch wouldn't work. Even after checking and cleaning all the contacts, I still don't have success. On U tube I saw a lot of solenoid problems which were understandable, which is why I ordered it, and it seems to be working well To verify this, I took a piece of the old one apart and it had total corrosion on one side.
In my last question, I described how my DPDT switch lights were always on when the switch was in the neutral position due to a solenoid. It is not possible for me to reply to the several answers that people gave me since Amazon does not allow you to reply to your own questions. I would like to respond The problem was that the lead wires on the solenoid (and all solenoids like this) act as ground/negative. Therefore, on my DPDT switch, I had to use only the positive output pins, connecting these to the lead wires on the solenoid.
There are times when relay contacts stick together, and there are times when they do not make contact. It is necessary to tap the top of the relay with a screwdriver handle or something heavy in order to release the contacts. The new relay is brand new. A quick update After contacting the company for a replacement, I was shipped a new item. The item has been installed and is working as it should. To inspect the unit, I disassembled it and found the contact points to be very durable. They are very well designed and built to last. The external and internal finishes are of the highest quality.
I found it to be a perfect fit It was simple to hook up because of the enclosed schematics. Having extensive experience in electrical and electronics is a plus for me. As an alternative, if you know negative from positive as well as which battery wire and switch output is connected, and if you can connect a wireless controller, I could operate my winch via the wireless remote. This is what it does. It is portable and uses alligator clamps to connect to a battery and other components.
The contactor worked well in installing it in a 3K ATV winch, where previously power was input directly through a control pendant using light gauge wire. I upgraded the wire to 4AWG and used cable and connectors to attach the contactor. A welder was refitted with crimp lugs left over. It generates less heat and is more environmentally friendly With larger wires and more resistance, there is more loss A direct connection via the contactor is possible A style 175 amp battery disconnect for Anderson batteries. With the winch on the car hauler & trailer, it is now a portable unit Use trailers to dump trash when necessary.
The first relay I received was defective because the "IN" contacts inside of the relay did not work correctly, so I couldn't wind the winch back up. My issue was rectified within a few days as a replacement relay was sent to me from their customer service. We hope this relay is more reliable than its predecessor, but at least the company stood behind their product. We are pleased with how swiftly the customer service representatives responded.
Install is simple for those who are DIY enthusiasts. To accomplish this task, I only had to use wire crimpers and strippers. Although I had to buy eyelets separately, the local hardware store had the size I needed for the wires in my old setup. With this kit, I'm sure it will last a lot longer than the junky relay kit that came with my wrench.
