The liner is only attached to the rope's end and beginning, and it's only about 15 feet long on each side. It's the black object in the picture. You'll want to tape both ends because if the rope is on the ground and you pull it towards you, it will start to unload the black liner from the sleeve. I wish the entire rope was lined because it catches and begins to unravel as it drags through the leaves, bushes, and rocks. Every time I use the rope, I have to be careful of threading, chipping, and cutting it.
I think it's nylon, but I'm not certain. It's used to bring down trees and pull them to a loading zone. It's been incredibly durable and dependable, though it frays easily when it comes into contact with the ground or other trees. Overall, I think it's preferable to cable.
It's made in China, but for the small amount of money it costs, I bought two spools. Once I've attached the winch, I'll need to make some adjustments based on the winch I'm using. I cut up the second spool to make soft shackles, which haven't failed in any way, and the rope hasn't either. On a single pull, I've been able to winch full-sized diesel trucks up a hill. In both hot and cold weather, I've uprooted trees with the same line. It comes highly recommended from me.

A curved mounting ring would be an excellent addition. I needed to replace a steel cable, so I bought this. Steel splinters and slashes the hands. The first application was to uproot several large cedar trees. There are no issues with rope. I overworked a 9k winch and it stalled, but the rope held up fine, and I keep the winch indoors or in a vehicle out of the elements. Against the trees and ground cover, the rope is quite visible. I'm very happy with it, and it has already paid for itself after only a few weeks of use. It would be preferable if the mounting ring had a curve. Otherwise, I'm content. In a few days, I'll post a video of a tree being uprooted. br>br>update: br>br>update: br>br>update: Several months later, during the worst winter storm in south Texas in my lifetime (February 2021), I became stuck in the snow and ice, and this rope performed admirably in both self-rescue and the subsequent rescue of my stranded neighbor. Abrasion-resistant to the point of being unusable. I'm revisiting this review because it's a good value for the money, and I'm currently ordering another to extend my reach even further. Revision of the review to a five-star rating.

It's exactly what I was hoping for, so it's a great buy. I prefer this style of drum connector to the thicker version, as I've had bad luck with the latter. The factory drum screw would work with this style, but a longer screw would be required for the other. The thimble end appears to be well-made, and the rope itself appears to be in excellent condition. It fits perfectly on this old 9k lb winch after being pretensioned.
We rigged it up and put it to the test, and it failed. We spooled after repairing. br>br>Fortunately, the cable is much longer than the one we replaced, so we are confident that recovery will go smoothly, even though we won't be able to fully unspool it.
I pulled it with a 4 ton cable puller while tying knots along the way. The rope was fantastic; it was extremely flexible and easy to climb a ladder with. I'm glad I used it because the tree fell on top of the other one, forcing me to cut it down. It was tense to the point of being unbearable. It worked like a charm, snapping all of the branches!.
I had it installed but hadn't used it yet when I had to pull someone out of a ditch the next day. br>Excellent strength, and it would not stretch when wound on the spool.
This is a fantastic product that is both light and strong. It dragged this backhoe onto my tilt deck as a companion.
I've been using steel rope cable for years and this is my first time buying synthetic cable. The only way to know is to wait.
