They initially stated that it was being shipped, but it was never received. The scans were "ghost" scans, according to UPS, and not the actual product in transit. (Amazon canceled and reordered the product. ) The bottom metal supports on which it is installed are unfinished and sharp, scratching the helium-filled balloon. Come out of your van with two hockey sticks. If the manufacturer doesn't notice, file the sharp edges and install the rubber pads yourself. Before drilling the bottom holes, I hung the ladder and put some weight on it to settle it in. I noticed the top metal hook channels were slightly bending and had to reshape them. The screws that came with it are fine, but I'm thinking of replacing them with through stainless bolts for added security. I'm thinking about adding a screw or bolt to the top. On your Ford Transit BEMM van, be aware of the no drill zones. They recommend disconnecting your battery to avoid accidentally triggering the air bag drilling! It can easily support 200 pounds of climbing up and down to the solar panels and roof rack, as well as holding the Kayak in transit.
You must remove your AWD and ecoboost emblems if you own a Ford Transit 2021 with AWD. br>The ladder must be centered on the door in order to be installed. If you center it, the AWD and ecoboost emblem will be on the bottom left side of the ladder. To install the ladder, you'll need to remove them. br>I returned mine because I couldn't tell if the emblems were stick-on or not. affixed to or bolted into You'd have an exposed hole in the door if they were bolted. br>Here's a picture of what I'm talking about.
It's a beautiful ladder. We work with plastics. On our camper van, we dipped the ladder in black for a sleek look. Fits perfectly on our Ford Transit 250's high roof, allowing us to easily climb on top to watch the sunset or clean our solar panels!.
A Ford Transit 350 with a high roof is what I have. In less than an hour, I'll have this ladder up and running. I've never driven with the ladder on a highway. Later, I'll post the outcome.
This took me 15 minutes to set up. It has a fantastic appearance and is extremely durable. My only complaint is that the included self-tapping screws are junk, and I wouldn't trust them to keep the ladder in place for long periods of time. For $1 more, I upgraded to a stainless steel nut and bold. Now that I'm 50, I'm pretty sure this thing is set.
Excellent fit and installation, with die-cut pads to protect the paint. I would have preferred black, but I didn't want to spend the extra money on powder coating. The brushed satin chrome finish, as it turns out, is both attractive and durable.
It's of excellent quality; it's sturdy, solid, light, and simple to put together.
