Mine could only go on the left side (driver's) of the vehicle.

The fit is perfect and the functionality is excellent

It has a low profile and sticks out about the same as the bumper. It was installed slightly to the center on the driver's side back door. (Nv3500, 2015) I have a rear mirror under the license plate. It wasn't going to be on the front door, because I didn't want it there. If you install it, you should be able to do the following: The door will not stick to the magnet if it is too far away from the hinge. You'll understand what I'm talking about if you own a nv3500. Nv3500 doors unlatch on the hinge and open completely, with a large magnet on the side to keep them in place. For more information, look up youtube tutorials. I didn't like the regulsr, so I just drilled a hole and screwed it on, then added marine silicone (which I bought at a hardware store). Others have used truck bed paint to make it black. I hope this was of some assistance to you.
