Although the product is extremely well made and fits like a glove, the instructions are not entirely clear, especially regarding the removal of the grille and front fascia. Other buyers should keep these three things in mind 2) Don't mess around with reusing the 17mm subframe bolts. 3) Find a YouTube video showing the installation process and follow it. In the Honda shop manual, they state that replacing them if ever removed is a good idea, so buy two new ones and cut about 5/16" off the end before installing the new ones. 3) Plan disassembly and base plate installation for one day and reassembly for several days later, as some of the plastic Honda fasteners will likely break during disassembly, requiring replacement.
Have not had a chance to test it yet but it appears to be relatively easy to install. The product seems to be of good quality.
The base plate is excellent. It fits This unit was first used on a 2 week trip covering 3500 miles. Along the way, we hitched and unhitched the CRV from the RV several times. The issue is not an issue.
I had a friend who knew how to take off the front cap on my 2013 Honda CRV help me and we were able to install it in a few hours.
