For 20 years, I have been dealing with Blue Ox and trust them with our vehicle repairs. There is a small problem, however, built into this unit that, while minor, shouldn't have been left up to me to fix. The rubber boot that covers the sliding tube and keeps dirt out is not sized properly. Due to the fitting has an orientation where it gets smaller on the far end, one side should be much smaller than the other. This causes the cover to fall off. When it was delivered, the zip ties holding it on were loose on both ends. It was very difficult to use without both ends of the zip ties slipping off. As you can see in picture one, the right one is being tied on with a zip tie. There should be two different sizes of ends. You can see how much it is oversize. A second fact is that it's a new one. Using a cheaper method for folding up the tow system when not in use does not work if there is nothing to prevent it from being folded up and down straight. As we cannot store the old bike carrier as we could with the old one, we have a new bike carrier about a foot above the tow system. At the price they charge, there is no way in hell that we should have to buy the zip tie restraints that must be purchased to fit the poorly sized covers or have to bungee the hitch into place because the new storage method will not work.
