Questions & Answers

It will fit a 2014 Equnox, is that true?

I'd check with the blueox folks. I am with. The people you know will be able to help you if you call.

What are the possibilities of using this BX1126 with a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara without modifying it?

There may need to be holes drilled in your frame for BX1126 to fit in your Jeep. It is probable that you will need to modify the belly pan so the base plate can fit. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to do this.

Is it necessary to drill a hole in the bolt to insert it?

Be sure to use the right size drill for the bolts.

As shown in the picture, does this item come with a base plate insert?

Thank you for getting in touch. I am not sure what do you mean by the insert, but assuming you mean the female plug (for motorhome wiring), then the answer is no, that part is included with the cable kit that you purchase I believe the answer is yes if you are referring to the removable attachment pins.

Designed to fit 2015 Jeep JKU, aftermarket bumper by EAG
5/5

The bumper on my 2015 JKU is an aftermarket bumper that has a winch. The JKU can be flat towed with two models of bases made by Blue Ox. There are two 1126s and 1134s in the Bible. There are many aftermarket bumpers that are supposed to carry the 1134, but since I had a Front Hitch receiver already installed on my JKU, with plenty of clearance between it and the bumper, I thought the 1126 should be able to work. As it turned out, I was able to remove the Curt from the hitch receiver without any issue and mount the 1126. It is simple to follow the instructions, but the best method would be to watch a few YouTube videos first. During this process we had to drill several holes in the frame, but if you have a good power drill, new drill bits, you will not have any problems. My bumper was not removed, the car did not have to be jacked or the tires were not removed. After you have levelled the plate front to back, you can use the lower bolts to keep it tight, and while you drill, clamp the rest of the bar to the jeep frame. by drilling out a pilot hole then move on to drilling the holes one at a time. Anyone with basic hand tool knowledge can install it.

The issue of corrosion and rust is very important
3/5

This product was purchased in May 2018 and installed by the middle of June. It is unacceptable to see this level of rust after my car has been used for less than one year. A Jeep that was installed on it is a 2012 that has been living in the salt belt for its entire life, and Jeeps have less rust under their undercarriage than these baseplates. As an alternative to the Roadmaster bar mount, I chose this bar mount because it is less obtrusive. It looks dreadful now that it has flaked off in big chunks of paint. As soon as I get to the insurer, I will inquire about the warranty since I am concerned about the longevity of the product with this level of corrosion after less than a year after installation.

There was a problem with the packaging or the item was wrong
3/5

I don't like how the product is packaged! The box seems well-built but the product itself isn't! The shipping company you choose is not going to handle any product with care, you know this. I saw both ends of the box sticking out of the cardboard when it was delivered. I couldn't see any chips on the paint or on the edges, so I assumed it was ok. Installation was not going smoothly due to the frame not sliding upwards. Here you can see the bending of the two sides as well as the framing square on both sides. So that leaves me as the one who has to figure out how to straighten them without cracking or chipping the finish, or It is because additional work has to be done on it that one star is deserved. Update The base plate is not compatible with 16' Wrangler Sport JKU models. I did not want to drill through the frame to take the chance of causing damage to my vehicle or to anyone else while towing, so I did not drill the top two holes all the way through.

Towing accessory kit including Blue Ox BX1126 Base Plate, Blue Ox BX7365 Alpha 6,500lb Tow Bar, and Blue Ox BX88231 Aventa LX Towing Accessory Kit for our 2011 Blue Ox Aventa LX
5/5

Several Blue Ox products were purchased for our 2011 Wrangler. We purchased the Blue Ox BX1126 Base Plate, Blue Ox BX7365 Alpha 6,500lb Tow Bar, and Blue Ox BX88231 Aventa LX Towing Accessory Kit. These guys really thought this whole installation through, if they hadn't attached the wire to the nuts I would have been scratching my butt for quite some time.
My best recommendation is to have access to a lift instead of laying on the floor of your garage. As far as getting the skid plate and bumper off of the Jeep was concerned, it was the hardest part. In attempting to salvage the six push pins for the skid plate, we wasted a lot of time Eventually, I decided that if they were not easy to remove, I would break them and replace them with new ones. (I replaced 4 of the 6 push pins. ) The drilling of the four holes in the base plate was completed according to the instructions, and I installed the lower bolts before installing the spacer plate for reference (square and center are not my strong suits). Afterward, I painted all of the holes with some paint after I removed the base palette. We ran the wiring while the paint dried, and then we mounted the baseplate after the wiring was finished. My measuring method for cutting the base plate was to measure from the outside holes in the frame for the skid plate to the inside of the base plate, cut a 14" slot in the skid plate with a sabre saw, and filed off the slag. Using the skid plate as a measure, you can clamp something flat on the window ledge and see how long you need to cut. Measure the side of the base plate (4 1/2") then cut the skid plate accordingly. It was just shy of the flattening of the skid plate on my vehicle. Also, I drilled a center hole in the skid plate so that the wire harness could be attached. Still, I needed to cut it a little more to make it Lastly, connect the ground wire of the harness to the chassis, wrap the harness with tape and run the wires through the hole of the skid plate and bumper, and then install them. I decided not to use the diodes provided in the accessory kit for the tail light and turn signal, and installed these additional bulbs instead. In my opinion, it would be best to keep the Jeep and Towing wiring Although it proved to be quite challenging to get 2 bulbs into a tiny place, it worked. As a result, I added a screw and washer to hold them secure in place on rough roads and trails since it didn't seem like the bulb holder would hold up on rough roads or trails. Generally, I would say this is a really good If we had purchased from the RV shop, the cost would have been about $1000 more. It's okay to take your time and think about it.

This is a very simple process
5/5

The cheaper part was the same exact part as the more expensive one, so I ordered it off Amazon at the cheapest price. With all the necessary bolts and instructions, it came in a Blue Ox box. The challenge was very easy for me since I have an average mechanical skill level. On my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S, I installed this system. Do not read ahead. You'll be fine if you follow the directions carefully. Use the phone number provided for help. Basically, they have thought this out so that it's simple to follow. It starts with #1 and then you follow the steps. You can reuse the plastic wire looms that you removed from behind the bumper if you take your time. A very tight fit exists between the base plate and the frame, but it is a perfect fit. The frame does not need to be cut on the 2014 model. The hardest part of the job was removing the 8 bumper bolts (they were all tight all the way out, especially the 2 on the drivers side by the fog light). If you unplug the fog light wires, there will be enough room for you There is no need to extend the top one. Another instruction that was vague had to do with trimming the You just have to trim it one inch at a time to get it to fit you perfectly. My Dremel had a round cutting blade and I used it to make straight and even cuts. Taking the time to complete this project totaled two hours and fifteen minutes. We got the tools to clean up when we got the tools. Also, you will need a rubber mallet to adjust the flat base plate and shims more easily and without scratching.
