It is not really true. If a 3/8" link is loaded in the clevis, it will be tight and will bind. With a hammer, you would have to pound out the link. There is a possibility that the clevis will become deformed. Make sure you order hooks in 3/8" diameter.

The woods seem to be a common place for me to lose them. These were purchased as a replacement and cost less than half of what I would have paid at There seem to be no problems with them. There is still time to find out.
In the back of the truck, it is always good to have a couple extra hooks.
When I ordered 10 hooks, I received 3 hooks* and I'm not happy about it, but I'm also unsure of how to complain?.
I highly recommend this product.
My property had timber downed to be cut into lumber, so I used these hooks on chains to secure it. They held up well without any problems at all. They hold up well after being welded to my machine and used to hook chains on. As far as I could tell, they worked perfectly for what I needed.
I purchased hooks stamped G70 at excellent price and received them in a timely manner.
