What country does it come from?

Is this big enough to hold a Ford big block?

I installed a 351 Clevland on mine and it works fine. It's a little shaky, but it's doable. For a big block, I'd recommend a clip higher than this one, though I believe you could get away with it if you're careful and aware that it can tip over.

Can it rotate while holding a bbc?

If there are heads on the table The horizontal center of gravity for turning on that axis is somewhere below the intake region in the rotating assembly in the engine. The range of adjustment on the mounting arms makes positioning difficult. br>It has a foldable base that allows for some flexing when turning the handle. It might work for your bbc, but with that much weight rotating, I think the stand is a little shaky.

The quality is excellent, but the price is a little high
5/5

I was looking for a geared engine stand, and from what I could tell from my research, there only seemed to be one basic model that was sold under various names and model numbers. br>br>After reading a lot of reviews, especially for the Summit, JEGS, and Sunex models, it appeared that while they were all nearly identical (probably made in the same Chinese factory), the Sunex was the only one that consistently received 5 stars, so I decided to pay the extra money. br>br>So far, that decision has served me well: br>br>The packaging was excellent (nested cardboard boxes), but it had been punctured during shipping - As it was delivered, one bolt fell out the hole, but when I opened it up, there was no damage or missing bolts. br>br>It was simple to put together - One hole had a small amount of weld splatter on the edge, but that was easily removed with a quick drill pass. I bought a geared engine stand because flipping a motor over while removing and inserting a locking pin is nearly impossible (reviews of other manufacturer's models all seemed to refer to substandard welding). br>br>I usually work alone, and flipping a motor over while removing and inserting a locking pin is near impossible. I also plan to install some large engines (Mercedes 4). A local restoration shop strongly recommended this, saying they use it for V12's all the time. The wheels are steel (one set locking, the others castoring) and the suspension is steel (with one set locking, the others castoring). The plastic inserts at the ends of the legs are a minor cosmetic touch, and the paint or power coat appears to be in good condition, though it does crack when tightening a few of the bolts. br>br>However, there are a few things to keep an eye on. The first motor I'm using this with is a small Mazda motor, which requires slim (M10) mounting bolts to mount to the stand, and the 'fingers' are quite long (110mm), which is a good thing. On a large motor, this usually means that the flywheel or clutch can be installed while the motor is still running. However, locating the M10 1's that are 140 and 160mm in length is proving difficult. I considered cutting the fingers down (so I could use shorter bolts) but eventually decided to buy hardened, threaded rod and use that instead. the motor must be connected However, the M10 diameter leaves a lot of slop (flex) inside the 16mm Internal Diameter fingers, so when mounting the motor, I bought some 16mm steel M10 bushings to go inside the fingers. They fit perfectly, but the rods and bushings added a significant amount of cost to the stand. br>br>If you're only using this with larger motors (and larger bolts - see below), you'll save a lot of money. You should be fine (bolt kits are available for most big blocks - say M14 or M16 size) The stand does not come with anything). Keep in mind that mounting smaller Asian or European engines may necessitate a similar procedure. As a result, I won't have to store two engine stands in my garage. which was the alternative. br>br>The worm drive appears to be in good working order, despite the fact that it isn't under any significant load at the moment. br>br>When I install a V8 or V12, the real test will begin. If there are any issues, I will update this review - But, for the time being, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

- Steve.

The engine stand is excellent
5/5

high-quality and simple-to-use I purchased this engine stand after my old Harbor Freight one failed to adequately support my cast iron Pontiac 400 engine and could not rotate to allow access to all sides of the engine, which is why I purchased this Sunex unit. I have a great, easy-to-crank gearbox that easily turns the entire engine; however, it does not fold easily (as advertised) without removing one bolt from the angled bracket. This would fold easily if it were a hitch pin, like the lower ones on the upright post.

It's a world of difference from my old stand that didn't have a gearbox
4/5

The gearbox makes it simple to rotate the engine without requiring the assistance of another person or simply dropping it. This is a must-have item for any retail establishment. Just remember to grease the gearbox first, as it does not come with much grease. When compared to stands without the gearbox, this one is a little more expensive, but it's well worth it. I found it to be more reasonably priced than the other options I investigated. My only complaint is that the fingers on it where the bolts go through to the engine are such an odd length that you'll need very odd length bolts, which your hardware store is unlikely to have; I had to get bolts slightly too long and use a lot of washers because I didn't want to cut the fingers shorter if I got them too short.

It's sturdy, well-made, and simple to use
5/5

This is a great improvement over my old home-built engine stand, as it is well-made and sturdy. The rotating assembly for the worm drive is incredible. The days of manually turning the engine block from upright to inverted are long gone. Another attractive feature is that you can pause at any point during the block's rotation for easy access. The plastic catch tray, which is custom molded for the stand, is the other accessory I recommend; overall, this is an excellent addition to my home shop.

It's practical

It's possible to make it heavier. It's nice to have a head that rotates. Would buy it again if it was on sale.

It's time to upgrade to a better engine stand, and this is the one you want
5/5

br>Harbor Fraud stuff is cheap, and if that's all you can afford, it'll get you by, but it's much easier to deal with and flip while building a motor.

However, it is very well constructed
5/5

I just finished putting this engine stand together after receiving it. It's well-made; it's sturdy and reliable. simple. My only criticism is that the company uses a lot of fasteners. You have precisely the right number of bolts and washers. Putting it together was a bit of a challenge. Grab an extra handful of 5/16 and 1/2 washers as a courtesy to yourself. four lock washers that are 1/2 inch thick It will have a more appealing appearance as well as a more pleasant feel. Fill the two zerks with grease as well. It'll be a lot easier and smoother. quieter. Furthermore, the blow-out Some of the hex caps appear to be inserted incorrectly in the apart diagram, but that is just my opinion.

It's possible that this is the best engine display available. I am looking forward to using it for a long time.
