The back of my 16 ft RV trailer came up fine. The hitch has worked well and tying up and tying down is easy
It would make more sense for me if I left it as is. You can grease or lube the pads but not so much as to damage them
The friction pads will probably be on all units

To ensure that Hex bolts are strong enough for this purpose, make sure you purchase the appropriate bolts. The hitch has resulted in a very positive experience for me. I've used it for 16 ft RV trailers weighing 4000 pounds with no issues. It is easy to set up.
This hitch was shipped promptly, but as the weather is just now clearing up here in the North, I'm just now getting it installed. I found the instructions to be clear and all pictures clearly labeled. It's first problem is that a part was missing (retention bracket). This rendered the hitch essentially useless and I decided to shop around for a new one. A friction pad was shipped with a crack (obviously damaged during assembly) and the problem was not noticed until after shipping. The same as above, i have not hooked anything up to this hitch yet, so this is also disappointing. It appears to be a common problem with Reese hitches on the internet. I reached out to the seal, and reese in hopes of resolving this issue. Upon completing my upcoming 3000 mile trip, I will update this review with details on hitch performance as well as the resolution to my missing/broken parts issues with Riley.
WDH eliminates bounce and tow vehicle alignment problems - trailer bounces a little and the tow vehicle isn't level without the WDH. Low in the rear, it had a long wheelbase. As soon as the WDH is installed and adjusted, the trailer is level and rides smooth. Sway-resistance is built into the hitch No oscillation occurs since there are no reduction bars. Having seen the differences both on and off the road, I will never tow a travel trailer again without a WDH. Oh yes, I had a missing pin and a few nuts and washers from when they got loose in the packaging, and I contacted their customer service who shipped me the missing pieces by overnight post so I could get on the road before It's great to get such great service from a company!!.
When I bought my travel trailer in 2012, it was fitted with a Reese SC. Replaced it because it appeared to be old. I've never done this kind of work but, after several false starts, I managed to get it done and get the car and trailer A 5" hitch might have pads one inch wide by one inch long. A new pad was required because when I dropped the bar onto the pad with the tool, the backing detached causing me to have to buy two new pads at a price of $38. The whole thing kind of stinks. I'll have to wait until we get on the ride to find out.
It is incredible what a difference this hitch can make. We are now able to drive with our car perfectly level and without sway. Since the trailer frame had crossbeams that obscured the ideal location for installation, it took me a long time to install it. It took me a while to figure that out, but then it was easy to install. These hitches are what I would use if I were to tow a trailer.
We took this from Alaska to Nebraska and it worked great. The larger camper towed by our Nissan Pathfinder 2015 didn't sag as much as our smaller model and put out less heat. The sway aspect of it has never been a problem for me, so I cannot comment on You will not have any difficulty with the installation if you know how to use the It does seem normal to hear loud popping and groaning when turning at low speed, and it gets better with more usage. We traveled for 22 days and I barely noticed any strange noises when driving at low speeds at the end of the trip. Grease only when necessary, but do not grease the friction pads, or your vehicle will not behave as it should.
The work well, although it took me two tries before I got one with all the pieces.
