You can probably fit everything else, but when it comes to the weights, go with a 2" setup. It would be nice to find a WDH with a weight corresponding to a ball sized 2 5'16" across.
This was the case with mine. After a 2600 mile drive with my trailer, I am tired. Without it, I wouldn't have been able to accomplish

The installation instructions are minimalistic, but they are In order to get everything level, installation and adjusting took a bit of time (a few hours). When I set up this trailer for the first time, the ball was too low, so I had to pull everything apart and adjust upward. Once set up, I won't have to do it again. However, the riveting for the spring bars that hold the "catches" is what I dislike the most. I found that the connectors were loose and the spring loaded catches had fallen off the second time I used the hitch There are no holds for the main bars to keep them It was fortunate that I was at home rather than on the road. To hold the catches in place, I drilled and tapped the rivet holes and used #10x24 threaded bolts. Here are some images (see below). It's more convenient now that I don't have to worry about losing them as I travel. As a result of this obvious engineering defect, I deducted two stars from the rating.
Instructions that are a bit vague. Previously, I had an older straight bar unit that was designed for a heavier camper than my 16 foot Casita. I purchased the WDH to replace it. Immediately after opening the box, I found the construction to be of high quality. Instructions are a little less clear. Then again, I might be the person in question. In the box, you will find everything you need, including a pre-built A 2 inch ball has been torqued. It takes a while to get it all set up right, so set aside an afternoon to do it. Before I began, I watched YouTube videos to get a better understanding of what I was up against. I suggest you load your towing vehicle (in my case, an '05 4Runner) and trailer just as you would for a camping trip. In the absence of it, the geometry will change and you will not be able to get the full benefit of As the receiver on my 4Runner has rounded inside corners, I had to grind down the edges of the tongue about an eighth of an inch on each of the corners to make it Before you start, make sure you have checked yours. We used an 18v DeWalt angle grinder with a heavy duty sanding disk to get the job done. Someone who has one might be able to help you if you don't have one. Alternatively, you can use it as an excuse to buy new tools. The tongue would be inserted into the receiver at a given distance. I marked this distance with masking tape and ground to it. It was only a matter of painting and primer to obscure the alteration. In the process of mounting the brackets that connect the chains on the A-frame, I encountered some difficulty This is due to a nonexistent frame A few years ago, I added a second battery cage to my rig. The inside lip of one of the brackets had to be ground down and the mounting bolts had to be shortened to achieve this. I would have saved myself a lot of frustration if I had looked over everything beforehand. The manufacturer was not at fault for any of this. It's an entirely different breed of housing to have a casita. This is one of the best sway control bars that I have used as it has two friction pads, compared to the single friction point bar I was using before. *Check to see if you have sockets that will fit with In order to speed up the assembly process, I used a cordless hammer drill. However, you also need a torque wrench, or at least a breaker bar, to secure the assembly at the very bottom. For those who are just starting out, I also suggest bringing the right tools for making adjustments while on the road. It is still in the process of being fine tuned. All in all, it's a big improvement over what I had, and I expect more performance to improve with continued tuning. This is a great deal, since I can buy it for 100 dollars less than I can get in my area.
I have tested the hitch and it is working correctly. I have no problem with that. However, following the installation instructions is a process that takes some time, in part because they are poorly The ends of the spring bars should be as high off the pavement as possible, according to the chart. No details are provided as to how the step is executed or how it is connected to the steps in the assembly that actually go into making it work. I figured it out (at least I did), but the description should be more clear. In the preliminary assembly of the unit, all the parts should be assembled very loosely until the height of the spring bar ends is determined. You should tighten some nuts (part#5), but the instructions say to do that. It's not a good idea to do it until the adjustments have been made. The washers and rivets within the assembly are used to adjust the tilt of the head and the height of the spring bars. By adjusting the adjusting bolt below the rivet, you can move the head off center to add washers or off center to remove If you need to adjust the ends of those bars a few times, do so once until everything fits correctly, and then tighten everything up. You will also need two, a 1-inch disc and a 1-inch disc There should at least be one deep well socket and one 1/8 inch socket with drivers. With a wrench and a deep well, it might be possible, but I haven't tried it. It's not difficult to accomplish any of these things, but it can take some time to get it just I then adjusted the weight of my trailer accurately so that it was evenly distributed between the front and back wheels and everything was level.
This is the hitch we use to tow our travel trailer. Sway bar keeps the trailer straight in front of the truck, and it keeps the trailer level with the pickup Furthermore, the friction reduces the bounce over bridge abutments as well as the wind resistance. The product keeps the truck at the proper level as well.
I like how easy it is to install and how well it works.
When the lever is raised with clips, I am not entirely satisfied with the way the lever is held in place. It should have a pin that goes straight through.
To ensure straight alignment of the trailer and tow vehicle, this procedure was followed. Using a weight distribution hitch for the first time, I was astonished at how effective it was.
Check your order before placing it to ensure it will work.
