Get the right under-bed gooseneck hitch and turn over ball for your truck. It is not difficult to install on your own, but it does take some time, as it did for me. The fifth-wheel hitch slides into the bed's hole, replacing the gooseneck ball. Tighten the locking bolt to 60 ft lbs after releasing the pin through it. It takes longer to lift it out of the truck bed than it does to prepare it for removal. The top plate is removed from the stand, and then the stand is lifted out. The stand is significantly heavier than the top plate, but it's nothing that a single man can't manage. I wouldn't want to carry it very far, but it's no problem getting it from the trk bed to the shop where I keep it when it's not in use. I had to cut strips from my plastic bed liner to fit the frame feet strips into the bed corrugations. You don't have to do that if you use a spray in liner or if you don't use a liner at all. I'm very pleased with how quickly and easily I was able to convert my flat truck bed to a gooseneck hitch or 5th wheel hitch. the other way around
Yes, it's rated for 20,000 pounds, but it'll probably be fine for shorter trips. I used one for a year on a commercial basis and couldn't be happier.
To me, it's a matter of personal preference. If you plan on using your truck's bed frequently, the Reese goose box is a good investment; otherwise, save your money and get the b. I've got a B. W, on the other hand, if I were in the market for one right now, I'd go with the goose box.
It is determined by the make and model of your truck. Go ahead and do it. w website

We recently switched from a bumper pull to a fifth wheel camper. My grade was a B. W toss the ball into the truck, which is already in motion. We began by using a fifth-wheel to gooseneck adaptor. It worked well, but because we were connected to a ball, you could still hear and feel some movement. Every year, we plan a couple of long trips and intend to begin towing the boat behind the camper. I was hesitant to upgrade because of the additional cost. For peace of mind, I took the risk and ordered this hitch. It turned out to be a fantastic choice. Because I wasn't sure what height setting I needed, it took some time to put together. This is the easiest hitch to hook up after it's been set up, and it pulls really well. There's no more rattling from being attached to a gooseneck ball. There's no doubt that the King Pin is hooked correctly when it comes to latching it. The handle snaps into place, the safety pin is inserted, and the roller coaster is ready to roll. It's a little difficult to load and unload into the truck bed, but I would recommend it to anyone towing a fifth wheel. This was an excellent purchase.
Today was the first time I used it, for a 250-mile trip home with a used camper I purchased. At the campground where I met the seller, everything was level, so hooking up was a breeze. While backing under the camper, the spring that keeps the fifth wheel level front to back appeared to assist in lining things up. On the way back, there was no slop in the hitch. Ran 72- For the majority of the journey, the temperature was around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. When I got home and went to park the camper, I had to put a block under one side to make it level on my gravel driveway. I recall having issues with the pull pin releasing on another brand when the truck and camper were not both level side to side. hooking up or unhooking the camper When hooking or unhooking them, the trk's levelness in comparison to the trailer became a pain in the rear. I simply unhooked the jaws and drove out from under the camper without difficulty after leveling it side to side. I backed under it again to see if it would be difficult to get the jaws to lock at the trk's different side-to-side angle than the camper. There were no issues at all. The cam lock style is excellent, which is why I purchased the b. with a hitch made by a well-known brand It takes less than ten minutes to go from gooseneck to fifth wheel or vice versa. I keep a torque wrench and socket in the back seat in case I need to install or remove the hitch at any time. It will be used for a trip to Yellowstone National Park in a few months.
The instructions were simple to follow, making the installation quick and easy. Only a few tools were required (make sure you have a torque wrench). During towing, everything runs smoothly and quietly. I have a 6 3/4 bed and have only towed the 5th wheel around the neighborhood to ensure that everything is in working order and that clearance is adequate. Tight turns aren't too close to the back window (9 different settings to choose from). The first real test for the second season will be in three weeks, but I'm impressed so far.
I needed to lower the trailer's front end, and it only took me ten minutes to undo the bolts, reposition the pivot arms lower, replace, and re-bolt them. The 5th wheel was almost perfectly level after tightening the bolts. This hitch is extremely quiet, extremely simple to connect to, and, honestly, not all that difficult to remove from the bed. It's beautifully made, and I'm grateful that my wife persuaded me to purchase it. If you buy this, you'll never have to worry about anything going wrong with whatever you decide to tow.
The unit is the easiest I've ever used as a 5th wheel plate, and it appears to be one of the heaviest as it connects to the B&W turn over ball. It seemed to pull better and didn't jerk or pull as hard as the 5th wheel did. I can't believe I didn't get it sooner. Yes, it's not cheap, but as the saying goes, "Buy once, cry once!".
Their pickup's frame is equipped with a W turnover ball hitch. VERY well-made, as well as VERY heavy! However, it is a superbly constructed hitch. When it arrived, it came in two boxes with perfect packaging. It's not difficult to put together for someone who only has a few tools. Simply adhere to the guidelines provided.
Update: Today, this hitch was instrumental in saving my life! It's simple to be towed out of a ditch (400 feet). The heavy recovery truck's chain slipped halfway up, allowing me and my 17100-pound 45-foot toy hauler to slide! VERY FAST! down the hill, colliding with a tree, which forced the trailler to come to a halt! solid! br>The tow touge sheared off the king pin, but the pin stayed in the hitch. The hitch held all of the F350's force and absorbed the truck's shock as it continued to slam into the trailer's front. My gooseneck in bed is a little bent forward, and the hitch's feet leave deep dents in the bed, but it never lets go! I believe the trailer would have gone through the back window of the F350 if this hitch had not been built to withstand the elements. br>Many thanks, B. Heavy as %*$ but top quality!
This is one of my favorite trailers. A warranty tracking number will be provided when you place your order. You're waiting for the warranty to arrive, and you're wondering where the hitch is! You won't have a tracking number if your Amazon preferences aren't set to accept messages from the seller. The notifications can be found in the Amazon menus under messages. br>br>Hitch is a nice, sturdy piece of equipment. It's the perfect match for my turnover ball setup. Heavy-duty construction. Because it's heavy, lift it with two people or with a hoist.
