Questions & Answers
It's impossible for me to say. If you would like to know the answer to your question, you can probably get in touch with Andersen. It was my pleasure to help you, but I am sorry I wasn't able to. The only thing I know is that the hitch is loved by our family. A problem with the landing gear in our fifth wheel caused it to have to be jack stacked so we had to use our Anderson hitch to make it fit on our trailer. Putting the hitch on the trailer was just a matter of climbing under the trailer and down. As we would have needed a traditional 5th wheel hitch, we weren't able to attach the hitch because you need to back the hitch in hard to lock it in place. In either case, our jacks would have been knocked over and the 5th wheel would have crashed into
It has 3 holes, the new one
This is not the case. On my truck, I had the rails already In addition to the rails sold by Anderson (and many other companies), other companies sell them
The hitch, if it needs additional clearance, can be turned 180 degrees if you want to set the rear bumper back. I'm not sure what you mean by "set back." but Andersen said you can do this.

It was not only difficult for me to deal with a hitch that weighed 150 pounds in and out of my truck bed as I age, but it was just a matter of time until In spite of their lightness, Andersen hitches are very durable, well-made, and comfortable to drive. It has been a delight to work with the Andersen Hitch, as I have heard a lot of good things about it. There are other reasons I find the hitch to be an excellent purchase as well It has a much better ride quality This means that you will not need to bang and chuck any more When starting out or stopping, it is very smooth. The truck I have is a standard bed truck (6 feet long). required more turning radius clearance from the cab to the trailer cap when turning sharply. Thanks to the offset of the Andersen hitch, I can turn my truck almost 90 degrees without hitting a pole. There is no need for a slider hitch. It is very easy to attach and detach the trailer. Only the standard pin is covered by the adapter, so when others want to pull my trailer (dealer or for service), that could be a problem. Yet, I noticed the dealer at my local store has a ball mounted on the forklift in order to move Andersen pin box and gooseneck This is an excellent product! I am extremely happy with it.
So far, I have only towed once, and I plan to tow again impressions are this hitch has all the features that it is advertised as having. After I attached the king pin to the receiver on the trailer, I spent about twenty minutes. It included a careful review of the instructions and some thorough cleaning of the king pin. During the installation, drilling the self-locking screws proved to be the most challenging aspect The hitch release screws need to be tapped. This is an excellent hitch. I have to say that the portion that mounts on the truck bed is most impressive. A couple of minutes are all it takes to install/remove it. I am pleased that the assembly is easy to handle and that it snaps right into the existing bed mount on my Ram 2500 truck. It turned out that I had to lift the front of the trailer quite a bit higher to touch the ball on the receiver. As I drove the trailer I wished the landing gear were high speed. The hitch is pretty good overall and I am satisfied with it. It is a recommendation that I would give to other fifth.
-Removing the hitch from the bed is a snap with the hitch being lightweight and easy to remove. This hitch makes no noise at all, there are no clunking or chucking sounds, - A greaseless hitch/kingpin adapter can be attached to trucks with the adapter A clean environment- The hitch can be mounted from multiple angles (depending on the clearance under the tailgate)
Note The words *br One con I have is that I cannot see the hitch ball from my rear view mirror. Consequently, I will need to design a process to help me align the ball with the king pin adapter. The words *br As of now, I haven't decided what would be the best choice of safety chains, though some states require them. A set of hitch pins will be purchased to be able to remove/attach the hitch in an easier manner.
This has been a great experience so far. It only took 30 minutes for me to install it. On my Fifth wheel, I installed the coupler so that it pointed in the direction of the rear of the truck, and it worked beautifully. Almost 90 degrees can be turned in my camper because I have a short bed.
A crew cab standard bed 3/4 ton pickup with a crew cab standard bed and this hitch was purchased to tow a 35' fifth wheel. A small amount of weight was added to the tow vehicle by utilizing ISR rails. I strongly disagree with this conclusion. The hitch pulls confidently and there is little bucking. It is virtually silent, also different from I particularly like the hitch because it is lightweight, easy to remove and install, and extremely sturdy. To give you a sense of the GCVW, it is around 19K lbs in my application. Despite not trying to turn the device to 90°, I am fairly sure it will turn down. Because the short bed required 180° installation, the adapter had to be rotated 180°. A quick hookup is all you need. On a CAT scale, the weight transfer to the truck was fairly even, lightening the front end by less than 100 pounds at full load. When the trailer was level with the tow vehicle under load, it was easy. The equipment in this case also did not need to be modified or purchased for that purpose. I expect the decision to be made based on the vehicle and trailer specs. I will likely not consider a conventional fifth wheel hitch unless there is some future application that requires it. I will choose the Andersen again if I ever The following information is updated for 2021 I noticed that the plastic coupler insert was laying on the ground below the RV after a recent extreme cold snap. It is likely that the heat cycling of the coupler caused the interference fit insert to fall out. The Andersen support team contacted me, explained the situation, and is sending out a complete A terrific example of customer service that confirms that this hitch fit their needs and is the way to go. I would still recommend and purchase this hitch one year after I purchased it.
But I have to say, it's been great so far. My Dodge 2500 short bed had already been equipped with existing rails that the hitch fit in, so it was very easy to install. It is no different than hooking up with the Reese in my opinion. The hitch has been used three times (for over 1000 miles in the mountains), and I have never had any problems. I would recommend it.
Likewise, I was able to install the coupling in minutes. It was a challenge to locate the Allen wrench. Buying an allen wrench socket online is a great choice if you do not have this tool. An allen screwdriver is not all there is to it. As detailed in the instructions, the pull cable should be mounted under the front end In order to make the cable more robust, we mounted it on top of the pin box using the same self tapping screws. We noticed a big difference in significantly less bucking and chucking on our test run, as well as a flat surface. (Piece was placed over top of the king pin) Yes, this means reaching into your truck bed to engage/disengage the cable. It was a much smoother ride overall. Granted, this was just a short test drive, but there was a noticeable difference. As well as hooking up, it was much faster. Although I can't see the ball in the hitch in my rear view mirror, you will see it in the rear view mirror. If you want to secure your breakaway cable, you will need to buy some sort of clip. There is also a relatively light hitch on the trailer, which leaves some extra room for cargo.
