Questions & Answers

What are the mounting bolts included in the package?

A package of mounting bolts has been delivered to me.

What does this look like on a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT?

The parts will fit the OUTLANDER as long as they say it fits the OUTLANDER and not the Outlander Sport. Generally, the Outlander has not changed the location of the hitch mounting points at the rear. I can fit my 16 with the same style as your 18, which is how my wife's 14 fits her. It has a funky exhaust pipe clearance plate on the passenger side in order to make the exhaust flow easily.

Can this be fitted to the 2015 Outlander Sport?

I believe you mean part number 13079 from Curt. This hook is the part number I used on a 2013 and a 2017 outlander sport. *br>The part number you referred to is used on This is the CURT HITCH you should use

Do you know if it will work on ?

It is true. It hasn't changed since 2013 the UnderCover chassis of the Outlander has remained the same since Those who only want to see the The Outlander Full size is a great fit for this Hitch. The smaller Sport model will not fit this (this will not fit the larger models)

Selected User Reviews For CURT 13163 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2-Inch Receiver, Compatible with Select Mitsubishi Outlander

All of our products are 100% American Made! The cheap China-made product is not the real deal! I thought it would work perfectly on an I can fit it right into my Mitsubishi Outlander 2018
5/5

Taking off the rubber mount, not the entire muffle, is all you have to do in order to drop the muffle. It is easy to slip it over the muffler and install the bolts once it is over the muffler. Don't forget to put the spacers that come with the package, since I forgot to do so. There is a lot of strength in this product and it is made in the Not that cheap China stuff, just so you know. In spite of the fact that the instruction says it takes 30 minutes to install, a couple of us had to hold onto the fixture for an hour. A 2 seems to be the most likely Three people are needed to complete the project. It will be held in place by one person and secured by two others. While it does hang low, it does stick out enough from the bumper to have a little space when you load things. A lot of clearance is still available on both sides. If you have the Outlander, you have to get this. Getting three out of four was easy for me. It will work wonders in different things with a V6 GT, and it will definitely be worth the money. Hence, materials used in the curtain come from the United States. I highly recommend this product!.

It is impossible for any connection points to be out of alignment
5/5

An outlander 2015 can be hitched up with a class 3 hitch. I was able to install this without any issues. I found the bolt holes to be perfectly positioned on my vehicle's install points. As the hitch is heavy (45 lbs) I had to use jack stands and ramps to install it. In addition to having an extra set of hands, I also had an extra set of hands to help. To ensure proper torque, make sure you have the right This product is definitely worth checking out. My installation time was one hour. The total time was five hours (it was difficult to remove the rubber thingamajigs from my muffler).

It's a solid hitch, but the packaging is awful
4/5

I installed Curt receiver hitch 13163 on my 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander, and it is very well built. It was the shipping I was most unhappy with. I received it on time, but the packaging did not seem to be to my liking. The package was delivered on my porch with a couple pieces of thin cardboard covering the receiver, not even close to covering the entire device, and a taped package with the components and instructions. In addition to a pdf manual, Amazon also provides a video tutorial. It wasn't until I started installing it that I realized how valuable it could be. I became instantly aware of the scuffs, scratches, and paint chips that were all over the surface. Is it possible that the shipping was the cause of the odor? If you're in the middle of installing something, the last thing you want to do is worry about returning it and having to wait for another one to arrive. The receiver is too bulky to fit in a box, but bubble wrap would have been a much better option than what I got. After watching a few videos of professional installations, I thought it would be easy to install, but it turned out to be a bit more challenging than I had The muffler clamps really do require a bit of mechanical skill, and you need to take care to lower the muffler safely. It is a good idea to have an additional pair of hands to hold the receiver hitch in place if you cannot lift and hold the hitch. Make sure you use WD40 and a wire brush to clean out the nuts where the bolts go on the bottom. For the bolts to be properly tightened, you must also use a torque wrench. Those can be purchased at Harber Freight for $20 if you can't borrow one. I found the hitch to be quite low once it was installed. In order to keep the trailer from riding so low at the front, I purchased a ball mount with a 4" rise.

Scratches the ground while driving on pavement, speed bumps, slight hills, etc
3/5

It WILL SCRAPE THE GROUND as it drives. The hitch was installed on my 2017 Outlander and fit perfectly, but it sits so far back and so low on the vehicle that it would scrape the pavement if I went over speed bumps, up slight hills, left the main road to enter a gas station, etc. I did this without adding any extra weight to the car or attaching anything to the hitch, just doing it on my own in the back. You cannot avoid having your Outlander scrape pavement on a regular basis, at factory height, unless you add some sort of lift to the overall height of the vehicle. The results aren't what I expected, but I was hoping for a better outcome.

Make sure you have all the parts
3/5

I bought the book from Amazon , thinking it was a good deal at the time. It arrived in perfect condition and in line with its description. There were some scuff marks on the install kit, but it appeared to be functional. I purchased it for the garage, but decided to install it a bit later due to weather and my Now that I have the time, I will install the hitch a couple of months later. Rather than tearing open my vehicle to install parts, I decided to check the parts first. The installation of trailer hitches has not been new to me as I have done it numerous Each of my cars has a hitch on it, and I have also installed them on my brothers and sisters' Since I've been installing for a long time, this is the first time I've encountered missing parts. There should have been a 45 minute break in between. It takes about 30 minutes or less to There are 2 missing spacers as well as 2 missing conical bolts. The return window has expired, so now I have to contact the manufacturer to find out if they have any replacement parts. That's why I gave it three stars. I will update my review as soon as possible. There is nothing wrong with the part, but there are parts missing. In addition, if you decide to buy from an Amazon warehouse, open the package as soon as it arrives DO NOT BELIEVE THE EXPECTATIONS. It was a lesson I had to learn.

This is a difficult product Installing it was rather challenging, and there were a few scratches on it when it arrived
3/5

YouTube video, but the car was on a lift and we were using much better tools than what we had. A craftsman socket wrench was next to our car on a hill. In addition, the frame of the car overlapping one of the screw holes on the passenger side interfered with the hitch bolt. This was not the fault of the hitch, but rather a problem with the threads corroding and the frame not aligning correctly No matter how we did it, a jack and three people were required for the installation. Our muffler also had to be removed and the spare tire had to be lowered. That was hilarious.

Hi there, good to hear from you
3/5

There is a problem with the database. Fits 2018 Outlander PHEV, but not 2017 Outlander Although the product fit database does not appear to be accurate, the hitch seems to be a good one. The item entered through the front door and left through the back door. In less than two minutes, it became clear that the hitch could not be fitted to the PHEV. The UPS store did not accept it for our return trip, but it did fit in the back for the pickup. My last insult was that I ripped a chunk out of my shirt with the three inch piece of MIG wire left on one of the welds (although it was powder coated beautifully). A four star product, a one star quality control, and a four star minus for telling me the product fits when it clearly does not.
