Questions & Answers

What is the ground clearance reduction from this?

My 2017 Subaru Impreza hatchback has a clearance to the ground of 9". It is myself that is installed.

anyone know if this has worked on the Subaru ?

It was easy to add this hitch to my daughter's 2017 Impreza without a hitch issue. Find a YouTube video on how to install it on the internet. While it was difficult to hold the exhaust system up with the tie down strap, I was able to hold it up with a tie down strap.

A trailer hitch that permanently locks you to the trailer is poorly designed
3/5

I'm not sure how this ever made it through a usability test, but if your hitch has one of those retaining pins that spring out once you insert your device into the hitch, I suggest you watch out. When a retaining pin is inserted, it can lock into place in a hole that's nearly impossible to reach. You must lock the pin inside the square tube of the left square of the Only after I snaked a copper shaft 4 feet long from the trailer hitch side was I able to depress that pin. The effort took about 5 minutes and I had to scratch my head from trying to remove it. The design of this site is completely idiotic. There is no doubt Curt knew the retaining pins existed since the hole they drilled into the receiver is sized to fit the pin. A hitch became attached once it was installed, so the manufacturer assumed you wouldn't want to take it off. It's an utterly ridiculous oversight that ruins what otherwise would have been a sturdy and well-fitting.
