I am not sure in the short answer. It is not going to fit a 2020 GTI, and when asked to install it by the dealership, they told me it wouldn't work. However, when I checked with CURT, they informed me it would work. does not seem to be reliable, as they told me the same thing about a 2015 GTI, and I was able to install it. Because I did not purchase a product from this dealer, I think they are lazy.
I will take one minute to do this Default cargo trays have 1-1/4 inch receivers, so your cargo tray should have 1-1/4 inch receivers The tongue must be 1" or you will have to use a 1" An adapter from 1/4" to 2" can be used with trays more commonly found. A booster had me raise my tray by about 4 inches, so that it wasn't as
There is no way I can answer that. Please forgive me
I put it on my 2010 golf TDI and it worked

A good welding job seems to have been done on this hitch. I read somewhere that some people had to add 3mm washers to the rear bolts because exhaust system interference caused the bolts to stick out. As far as I can recall, I didn't experience any such issue. I used it on my 2013 VW GTI and it fit perfectly. The bike rack on my bike fits perfectly as well. What's the negative? As far as suspension systems go, my car has stock ones. No lowering of the fee has taken place. There are only six slots on the rack Half a inch of clearance is required from the ground. To maneuver over high curbs and back into parking spaces with high barriers, you'll have to be a bit foresighted. Because of the thin black powder coat, its lack of a base coat and the ease with which it scratches, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The shiny, nice-looking finish of my car will quickly turn into a rusty mess since I live in the Northeast, where tons of road salt is applied every winter. I have been down this road before with other black powder coated steel accessories I have on my Jeeps and trucks. No matter how many times you use them, they Therefore, I coated the trailer hitch again with rubberized undercoating from 3M. A nice pebble grain finish was applied which looks nice and hopefully will prevent the item from turning into rusted into a useless object. Having said that, I am pleased with the fitment and construction of this product, and I.
This hitch for the Golf puts everything too low to the ground, scraping many parking exits, traffic stops, The bicycle hitch option is not a good option if you plan on using this for a bicycle. You will need to cut your bumper or make an access hole in the It is actually easy to put this thing on your main frame, so it doesn't really scrape on the floor that much. I have given it four stars because I didn't really have a problem with the floor scraping, and it is very solid. For the 2 bolts you need to fish in the frame, the heads need to be sharpened to a rectangular shape, but other than that, this only took 15 minutes. The fact that you are driving a low-rider car like a Porsche or other lowered vehicle is actually not an issue Although it will add another star, the bolts will require some preparation and the hitch is a little low, so I take off one star, but with those things in mind, this is a 5 star product just like all of their other.
It was just a heavy item taking up too much room This is a sturdy bolt that fits into the bottom of your car and is hard to hold up and bolt in place. When it comes to bike racks, it's great, but when it comes to the VW GTI (which has a two-speed transmission muffler exhaust pipes) and the hitch is only a few mm away, so it rattles/clunks (okay, not really rattles, but the muffler bumps against it) Designed for pulls of 2000 pounds and weights of 200 pounds, it can hold an impressive amount So far, I want to keep the rattle, and it is not bad. In order to sell the car, it would seem like something I would have to remove.
For my 2012 VW Golf TDI, I needed a trailer hitch that could be used with a cargo carrier. This hitch was just right for the job. The pros are Just as the instructions specify, hook up when you are ready. About 30 minutes were required for me to install it (1 person). In addition to looking good, it integrates well with the rear of the vehicle. As a result I have taken out trash and brought home things that would not fit inside the car with it coupled with the cargo carrier I purchased. The cons are There have been none so far.
The fit in place is satisfactory, but there are some snags. When going over bumps, does not take into account the movement of the exhaust. It's going to rattle a lot unless you find some rubber bumpers to place between them.
I am happy with how the hitch fit on my 2014 Golf. I installed it in 20 minutes and it was pretty easy to do. covered it with a cover so water and debris wouldn't enter.
It needs washers in order to fit properly against the factory exhaust. The quality of the finish and the fit are excellent. I think Curt needs to include some washers to help move the hitch down even further to avoid contact with exhaust. Just another 1/8" back and it would be perfect for '13 VW GTI 4-door. Across the threshold.
If you have a torque wrench, you can install this very easily. Despite being enclosed in a bog box, the hitch arrived undamaged. A few videos were watched and then I installed the software for about 20 minutes. I compared the 2013 and the 2012 and found it to be very similar.
