This set includes two bumper brackets, two bolt feeders, six bolts, two carriage bolts, six washers, two lock nuts, two bumper bolts, and two lock nuts which are installed easily. I also installed it perfectly behind the removable panel on my GMC Acadia 2015. It would be nice to see a new photo of the included hardware from Curt. Bolts and washers were all that was shown. There are additional attachments in the set in case you don't have the weld nuts included in the bumper (as I did not). Attached you will find a few photos of the finished installation.
It's great to have a hitch like this! I could not be happier with it, and the price is about a third the cost to buy and install at a dealer. (It is also about 40% cheaper than buying it at the local auto parts store. ) The compatibility of this item with my vehicle was a bit up in the air because Amazon does not list a matrix, but I checked Curt and Etrailer, and both sites mentioned that it was suitable. Besides my 2017 Buick Enclave and 2017 Chevy Traverse, I also drive a 2017 Cadillac XT5. Both of these vehicles fit perfectly on this hitch. Despite its high quality, the hitch itself has some flaws. The box had heavy walls with carry handles and arrived in heavy duty packaging. There was no damage on the inside of the hitch or hardware The items are padded and packed. It looks like a really cool hitch. As well as the metal, the welds and the finish are of the highest quality. There are holes for two additional frame screws right at the center where the hitch connects to the bumper frame rail along the lateral side mounting brackets of the hitch, as well as holes for weld nuts for the lateral side mounting brackets of the hitch. In total, the installation took about 30 minutes, and that's with plenty of interruptions to take a few beers and talk about great sales today at the yoga store. There is a lot to like about the hardware. kit includes heavy duty bolts and locking spacers (as well as an extra pair in addition to what is needed for installation), as well as carriage bolt mounting brackets and fish wire that are essential to getting the hitch mounted in the center to bumper frame rails. The addition of this hardware is extremely convenient, as I have purchased two different hitches previously where you were not given this hardware, and you had to either drive all over town trying to find a place that provided these specialty items, or wait another week to order them online (kills vacation). You will need these items if you don't get this hitch, so make sure the one you do get has them included to avoid any extra cost. In addition to installing, here is another note There are several online videos and tutorials, but they are intimidating because you have to lower the exhaust out of the way. As for the bolting, this will certainly make the job easier, but in my truck I was able to get the bolts in with a little patience. As long as you have one good big torque wrench, it's probably about a 2/10 on the difficulty scale.
I bought Curt's Class 3 receiver 13424 and it perfectly fit my 2013 Chevy Traverse LTZ. I had no trouble aligning any of the holes. As well as my hitch cover, I was able to use it. In the first place, removing the rust that built up over two years was the most difficult A GM tapped hole (GM put the threaded holes in place for a hitch/towing package, but the car was ordered without that package, so the holes and taps just rusted from exposure to water and salt). I had a great experience with this Only if the bolting hardware was stainless steel would it be better, which is why I went to the bolting specialist store to acquire stainless steel. My only defense to Curt's claim and the reason for my rating of 5 stars is that I have never seen any hitch that came with stainless bolts.
It how high the Traverse is off the ground so you can put a couple 5 gallon buckets upside down under the vehicle and use them to support the hitch whilst you attach it without having to lift the vehicle. It even includes fishing line to fish bolts through the bumper support! I used to have a Dodge Journey, so I know how great this is! This is unfortunately the case On the curt hitch as well, I installed the shackle. The Curt products are built to last and are extremely easy to install! As well, I like that Curt doesn't price gouge like Thule, Rhino and GM OEM brands!.
It was this product that I chose over the Reese brand because on their website, they stated that you had to lower the exhaust to install the Reese hitch. It seemed like more effort was required than was I was shocked to learn that one of the first instructions for the Curt hitch was to lower the exhaust. To save myself from lowering the muffler, I installed the piece without lowering it. However, those steps didn't work as well as they should, mainly because the socket for the front bolt on the passenger side was too close to the muffler to reach it it needed a wrench instead. Furthermore, my vehicle did not come with the weld nuts on the bumper frame, so I had to use the fishing line to pull the optional bolts through I. F. L. chrome hooks. Initially, I thought this would be a nightmare, but it actually worked perfectly without any problems. The bolt holes lined up and I was able to install the hitch without any assistance or even removing any hardware from the vehicle, nor did I have to use a jack to raise the vehicle for installation. As well as the Curt custom wiring connector, I also purchased a custom wiring adapter. I also found the installation to be very straightforward. It took an hour and a half to install both pieces. So far, I have not used the hitch to pull anything. Obviously, I will give this product a five-star rating if all goes according to plan.
